Sounds like a ghastly programme to me. Why would you want to watch that?
Because it came on - and the alternative is to sit and flick through every channel, hoping there's something better that's on (and not half way through).

I am watching Pick TV (freeview 11), which is about ladyboys. British men who are living with ladyboys in Thailand.

I watched that first time round and found it fascinating. DH won't watch with me because he can't get his head round it. I'd love to know the viewer composition, a lot of men I know, won't watch it, yet women including my mum find it really interesting.
Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? Most moles are not cancerous, any doubts, please check next time you visit your GP.

Yeah, this one is Ladyboys 2.

They are discussing the "are you gay?" question with one of the blokes. They must do it up the chuffer, but I think most of them don't see themselves as gay, because they look like women .... and they don't like labels; maybe bisexual is correct.

One of them's got his son visiting. Son 20, Ladyboy 22. Son's decided he'll move out there too.

They are all paying for the ladyboys' extended families.

One of them stumped up £6k for his ladyboy to start up a bar - the Brit isn't allowed to work there, so the bar supports them. He's not allowed to work in it.

Bit unusual, a helicopter's crashed into a pub in Glasgow: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-glasgow-west-25163045
    No information beyond that.

I could have taken that photo, if I'd got a smartphone and if I'd been in Glasgow outside that pub 15 minutes ago.... see... opportunities missed.

How about Miss Smilla's Feeling for Snow?

    Or anything by Christopher Brookmyre?

    Or Bateman?

Or short stories like The Fantastic Book of Everybody's Secrets

Haven't read much in ages but read the Long Earth by Pratchett and Baxter. Thought-provoking but with a disappointing sequel. The third one promises to be more like the first it would seem so I'm looking forward to that.:D

Read Snilla's snow many years ago but you are correct I did enjoy it. Something about British who done its just doesn't do it for me. Not really that interested in gore or suspense and I find graphic sex chucked in a distraction. I like books where I feel I am learning a bit about another culture or period - perhaps I will try an autobiography or travelogue next. My selection is a bit limited to Herts e-library.

PN the really good camera phones are still mega moolah, almost certainly still much cheaper to get a competent phone plus a competent camera. Perhaps a solution something like this paired with a zte blade 4 which would set you back about 200quid?
    I think....

Not seen the 2007 remake but I thought the 96 original was something of a classic of the genre....

I still really need a smartphone ...... is now a good time?

Every time I've brought it up, there's then been a discussion (that I didn't understand) between 2-3 people..... that never came to a conclusion, where conclusion = "buy this".

I'd want it to be able to:
    - take good (pref optical zoom) photos
    - be able to access the Internet

For Internet, I'd expect to want to use it to: read/post on MSE, check emails, use phone as a satnav, look at Google maps, search for random things using Google. Beyond that I've no idea how phones can be used, so I accept that once I've got it I'll new things to do with it....

    Buy this!!!

Read reviews first but this phone is the best (new) spec for anything anywhere near that price.
