Jo Nesbo is the most popular to move on to, though a lot say that it is more graphic. Some like well written Brit crime like Peter James, who bases his detective in Brighton.
I'm a James Patterson, Jeffrey Deaver kind of gal.....but have also read Peter James. We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.

Hello.
Bit of a frustrating hospital trip today, I was hoping for more news from the new guy instead I got more of the same really. But I'm going to try TENS again, so that might help. He thought my horse bandaged ankles were funny.
I waddled over to liberty ( oh, it felt so good I think it is my favorite shop in the world maybe) but couldn't cope with steps after that so just hobbled around the ground floor a bit. Home now, and a busy tomorrow too.0 -

Lir did you see that a behind the scenes programme is coming up about Liberty? I think it is a new series.

Oh, no I hadn't.....do you think it will ruin it? I was thinking one of the things. Like at liberty is how charming but individual the assistants are. I was served (ok, ok posh alert...but its a gift not for me) by a delightfully pretty and 'softly rounded ' in a distinctly non fashion lead public facing way,oh her face was heavenly, and she blushed when I told her so, and next to her worked a strong featured drastically made up slightly 40s vibe woman.....both were being charming and non bland and personable. I thought 'this is what service is'. Black Friday at asda ( where I had tried and failed to grab some breakfast in way to station.) no, no thank you. I'll pass.

I really enjoyed the behind the scenes look at Harrow School. Came across as posh, hard work but utterly endearing. I'm hoping this will be similar. If not I will be bitterly disappointed. Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? Sounds like a ghastly programme to me. Why would you want to watch that?0 -
Just finished the Girl with The Dragon Tattoo trilogy, first book was great, other 2 OK - what to read next?
How about Miss Smilla's Feeling for Snow?
Or anything by Christopher Brookmyre?
Or Bateman?
Or short stories like The Fantastic Book of Everybody's Secrets
Haven't read much in ages but read the Long Earth by Pratchett and Baxter. Thought-provoking but with a disappointing sequel. The third one promises to be more like the first it would seem so I'm looking forward to that.:DThere is no honour to be had in not knowing a thing that can be known - Danny Baker0 -
I still really need a smartphone ...... is now a good time?
Every time I've brought it up, there's then been a discussion (that I didn't understand) between 2-3 people..... that never came to a conclusion, where conclusion = "buy this".
I'd want it to be able to:
- take good (pref optical zoom) photos
- be able to access the Internet
For Internet, I'd expect to want to use it to: read/post on MSE, check emails, use phone as a satnav, look at Google maps, search for random things using Google. Beyond that I've no idea how phones can be used, so I accept that once I've got it I'll new things to do with it....0
