  • Back from Newport.

What I didn't say last night, as I felt like a complete fool, was that I dozed off on the nearly-empty train after Didcot, went to somewhere called Bridgend, then had to catch a train back to Cardiff, wait, and another one to Newport. So got there a couple of hours later than intended.

    Pillock!
...much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.

In my Tesco store today they had food bank volunteers. I noticed that about 60% of shoppers were buying stuff for the foodbank. I do hope that Tesco are putting stuff their way as they are making a profit on everything their shoppers are donating.

I shopped for a foodbank donation on Wednesday. 4 carrier bags of stuff I mostly do not eat/feed to my own family. Spent £30.05p on mostly tins (fish, meatballs, cornedbeef, Fray Bentos pies, sweetcorn, peas, rice pudding), packets of mash, cartons of juice and squash

I have such a desire to make fresh food but is not what they want. I also add in toothbrushes and toothpaste, toiletries.

Such a sad state of affairs.

There's one of those shopping villages at Bridgend.

You can shop for me.... LOVE Fray Bentos pies, rarely buy them, they're a nostalgia buy really. Meatballs = mmmm, I got 2 cans of meatballs in tomato sauce today £0.45 at Lidl, so that's four meals if I add rice!

Corned beef - that's a luxury item these days! I used to usually have a tin in the cupboard, used one a year on average, don't even buy them now.

No. It's why you're laughing that makes the difference. You were laughing with her, in a warm and fuzzy/hugging way ..... not splitting your sides with joy that she'd farqed up.

    So an MSE result anyway.

Well done. I've just been even more MSE.

Tried on a dress a month or so ago and decided not to buy yet another thing to slim down into. Have had a concerted month of effort to slim down before something I'll see a lot of people from my past at (+ work Christmas do) so thought I'd see if I can buy online. Apparently the 2 shops this dress is still available at (it's in the sale sections) do not have branches in the major city I will be in at some point next week.

Just saved myself the best part of £40!

Edit: might as well share a link http://www.whitestuff.com/doll-dress-prod401637_dk_aubgne/

Surely it would make more sense just to give a donation and for them to do centralised in bulk purchasing of close to date stuff from the supermarkets/suppliers?
    I think....

    Middle son's latest drum cover...

We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.

No. It's all about psychology. People feel they've actually done something if they hold a can of soup in their hands. More likely to impulse buy and donate, than to stop and give money.
