Agreed. I'd possibly find it quite difficult to chillax to talk to most if I ever made it to a meet up. Not a comment on any NP, more about me. I'm not exactly comfortable in a lot of social situations.
    :rotfl:

You have to try to think of an NP meet up as "having a drink with friends" (which I think you are OK about) rather than "socialising with strangers" or "meeting people for the first time". If you try it, you will be surprised how easily the conversation just carries on from where it was on the board. Hope you come to one some day, anyway. :)

    Happy Chanukah Jewish NPs!

Indeed. And from me too. And also to any non-Jewish NPs celebrating with their Jewish family members.
Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Point them to https://www.AtaLoss.org which does for bereavement support what MSE does for financial services, providing links to support organisations relevant to the circumstances of the loss & the local area. (Link permitted by forum team)
Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.

Happy Chanukah to all who are celebrating.

What are you all up to? Feasts, presents, visitors, traditions?

This is a tip when buying presents for the Over 80s too - either buy them something that can/will be used up quickly (e.g. chocs), or something you'd like yourself (so you can inherit it)

I just bought the Michael Buble album on CD for DH in one of the Amazon Black Friday deals. They've also given it to me 'for free' in mp3 format, which is supercool  i can have it on my phone now, he can have it in his car.

I think Martin recently pointed out that yu can now get the MP3s from Amazon of pretty much any CDs you bought from them in the last 10 years. Just a shame CDwow/wowHD or whatever they call themselves now don't do the same thing....
    I think....

... Chanukah..... thoughts to Jewish NPs.
I've no idea what that is - or even if I could pronounce it.

The J/NPs didn't exactly rush to their keyboards this morning to say "Happy ....." now did they!

    :)

    You can eat fried foods.

Doughnuts and stuff. Officially required, nice fried food.
    Is that it?

So it's fish and chips night? Followed by banana fritters?

Um, obviously my authority is not good as I'm now doubting my dates, but guess is it starts at sundown this afternoon?
