Glad the interview went well Gen. Hoping that you get it!

Cheers vivatifosi. Actually the more I think about it the happier I am with how things went.

The main interviewer played his cards pretty close to his chest but he seems keen on me getting the job and he was quite positive at the end.

If I get it then it's a pretty lucrative path that I'll be walking, potentially at least.

The bonus was that the weather was fantastic here also. The walk across Hampstead Heath soon after dawn, with the sun shining was beautiful. That was quite an eye-opener for me, as I don't usually do dawn.

It's the best part of the day GDB! Some of my best memories from driving days involve sunrise, I can particularly recommend catching the twinkle of the granite as you drop down into Aberdeen in the early morning rays.

Mind you there's a huge educational/job availability mismatch in many fields. There's about 100 people studying Forensic Science for every job that comes up. Media students and journalism, much more so.

Friend of mine is a frorensic scientist for one of the big companies in the field and they often find it easier to get good A level grades and train up from there. A lot of the forensic degrees don't cover the reality apparently.

Avatar-dog had a basic hard plastic dog bed - .

I'd just like to say I think these are fab. The sole reason we don't use them is because they do not come big enough for big dog and dog dog to lie flat out. Even big dog can curl up in the biggest size, and that's great, but its important dogs can lie outstretched if they want or need to.

In all other ways I think these beds are pretty great, they are excellent draft protection, they can be softened at the edges with vet bed (the dog fleece......and every dog owner should have two per dog....its the best, most versatile easiest to wash dog bedding there is IMO......) And different Infills can be used according to time of year. (Thin padded heavy cotton covered, heavy weight memory foam or many folded duvets (or combinations thereof).

I'd really love to be able to use them. Having got out of the habit with the bigguns it never really occurred to me to get one for the kiwi.....he sleeps on a couple of old pillows in his crate ATM, he has a tweedy dog bed too, which I took out to wash and cannot remember where I have put it. :o

Well I had the interview today and I think it went well. It's always hard being interviewed by someone you know but I'd be pretty disappointed not to get a second interview at least.

    Good luck with it Gen.
Positive thoughts etc going out to Bugslet and Mr B.

He's got the sub-cut, but I can't say it appears to have made any difference. He hasn't had any food for a week now and no-one thinks a peg is a good idea.

PS how was Spain and which part did you visit. I took DW to Barcelona for a major birthday and looking for some where close but nice for the next one.

PS2 You missed a good Dr Who which seems to share your birthday almost.

We went to Barcelona, so not much help to you!.

Almost got caught up in a march against budget cuts and had to take refuge here.

Auspicious time- Dr Who, JFK gets shot and I was born.

I thought the sub-cut should stop dehydration, don't know that you would notice much change visibly. Fading away is a slow process and very difficult time for you. I hope you have some real support and are remembering to eat yourself. Always here if you want to post.

It does stop dehydration - I think the hope was that it might encourage him to eat or make him more alert, which it doesn't seem to have done. They can only use the sub-cut for two weeks, after that, they seem to be at a bit of a loss and it will be purely palliative.

The zag family watched it and we enjoyed it. DS didn't get all the references. It wasn't gooing to convert non-fans to fans but it was brilliant for those already converted.

They usually reverse "the polarity of the field" which is more than enough to defeat any alien power.:T

This whole post-2005 reboot has been up and down but overall a god move.
I did ask a while back if anyone thought there were other series we should revive.
    Tomorrow's World?
    Top of the Pops?
    Jackanory?
    Anything?

Dave has started a series called Crackanory. It's allegedly jackanory for grown ups.

You got me thinking the same thing. I remember seeing some politician opening up a stage school in the North. They spun it as opening up opportunities for young people to develop their talents. Someobody pointed out that stage schools are, for many students, training for the dole. The nation only needs so many actors /actresses (is that still a word)

All those CSI programmes have a lot to answer for...
