Don't forget also, I am not mentally in a position to be meeting annoying people with whom I have nothing in common, who will chatter on with inane small talk about stuff that's not part of my life.

I'd just go, say something rude, leave and never be able to go again.

Are you from round here? No
    What do you do? Nothing
Have you been to ...? No

Then they whitter on about their other halves/families and I feel so far removed from their lives I might as well just hold my breath until I stop breathing to escape their banality.

How about joining the local MENSA? You know you have the IQ for it and by its nature it tends to be very aspie friendly.

Will be on my way home shortly. I am currently sat at purch's local airport and waiting to fly home. There is no truth in the rumour that I have been stalking him. That's what I want him to think anyway. Flight delayed a couple of hours. Thank goodness for free WiFi.

I took the tests some years ago as they were free and I was passing .... but then I found out the costs of membership and decided I couldn't afford to pay that to sit and chat to Tefal heads :)

One of my aunts used to run the M group in her part of the world.

Just checked, it's £22.50 for the test and £50/year for membership. Then there'd be the costs of travelling to any groups/whatever.... and one of my main issues at the moment is lack of cashflow. I could find other ways to spend an initial £75

I've no idea where purch's local airport might be. I'm definitely not stalking him.

This is how bored I am. Sitting at airport with Shazam, getting it to identify obscure country and western songs that are being played very quietly in the background. In spite of the sound of people's voices and passing luggage trolleys, it still picks up and names the tune straight off. V clever little app. I hate country and western

Yes, I'm not going to approach them directly.

Being a parent throws up all sorts of unexpected conundrums. It's like living in the Moral Maze.

Yes it does...and always at unexpected moments too.

I can't remember having to deal with the !!!!!! thing though I am sure both saw images at some point....so can't advise from experience....but I would talk to his parents first or his main teacher (do they have a form teacher?) if that doesn't feel comfortable.

In fact I am quite relieved that ours just missed the smart-phone/ internet access all areas at that age.

There is a link between financial worries and depression. There is also a link between the general hopelessness and an inability to step outside and get on with stuff. I don't think the weather helps.

Did you ever complete the benefit claim forms? Trying to survive below benefit levels is causing you unnecessary concern.

Don't want to dig you either PN (cos you know we love you ;) ) but sometimes you can write as someone who could be clinically depressed.
Could be just staying in though as now it's winter you aren't out an about on your beach trips? Your mood was definitely lifted in the summer maybe because you were getting a ton of exercise and fresh air every day ?

I think it was when you were house sharing though...so you had to be out to get some peace.

Now I am fretting as we sat on a beach together and indulged in a ton of banal chat...and I was half a cosy couple too (and I know they are annoying) ......did you feel uncomfortable?
OH didn't notice anything unusual about you or your behaviour at all, certainly no unintended 'rudeness' and so on....and I hadn't really filled him in properly on anyone so he took everyone he met at face value.
Don't keep beating yourself up about yourself and your personality as you are just fine as you are. No-one gets on with everyone all of the time anyways. ;)

When someone continually moans that they are not getting attention and if no-one is going to show them some attention they will stomp off to their room, you leave them to it. At least that is what we would do with 3 year olds and 13 year olds.

Does the same thing apply when they are 73?

Yes .....sort of but it's far harder.

We have attention issues with MIL and pander to them most of the time for a quiet life but we have found that it's then addictive and she needs more and more attn. to get the same result. So we had dug ourselves a bit of a high maintenance hole and are now trying to ease it off.
    Not succeeding though....

How is the flat hunting going?

On my mother, it's not news good at all and she has been sent to home to 'get her strength up' for an investigatory op in 2 weeks time and a big one in January. Snag is it's incurable so it's just a case of extending her life for a while really.

My cousin in Canada posted up a site for 'Off Grid Living' and we should allow more of this in the UK I think.

I'd worry about that and landslides, floods and trees falling.

Having just looked up local meetup, I have the opportunity to join Naked Male Massage Exchange UK.
    Unfortunately, I'm female.
