I never understand why peopel get into huge fights over something inconsequential, a hedge that is a foot out or something. You have to live with people for decades sometimes; far better to adopt the above approach.
tbf, it was a lot more than a foot. I cannot quite remember how much.....they had a green house, and small veg patch on it...... a considerable percentage addition to their small garden....I'm guessing about 20/25 percent bigger for them. I would have sold it to them too, but almost certainly for more money.:o
What I try for in clothes and home, is to come up with two adjectives that fit the style I am going for, then everything I buy, I ask does it fit cosy/country or glamourous/industrial, whatever the look is. Not foolproof, but it does help!
.....
.
I'm really bad at that appropriacy thing. I all find it hard to buy good basics. I'd love to find the perfect smarter than normal long sleeved t/ top that could be. Pulled on and used a layers. Things like that really struggle with.0 -

Planning the oxford drive. It looks like it is either the m40, or an early exit off that & the a3400. Wondering if that is a more scenic drive?
That said, it is likely to be dark by the time I set off...It's getting harder & harder to keep the government in the manner to which they have become accustomed.0 -

It was very a beautiful drive to school this morning. Bright sunlight, crispy frost and mist settling between layers of trees towards the Malverns. Stunning sunset last night, too.
It's Not half bad when it's not raining!Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

They are pretty roads jelly, but if it's dark you won't be able to see and I'm guessing timings may collide with rush hour partially. It will also take a lot longer, M40 all the way for me and save the pretty road for daylight when it doesn't matter if you get held up.
No frost a 100 miles north of you and I stepped out of the door at 5.15 this morning.0 -
Frost here though.
Bugslet, I'm tying to get sil to consider a recommendation you made for what you described as 'your favourite hotel' for a meal in December. Its iffy because they'd have to get a taxi (cannot come in our car because of her finances dog allergy ) and they are resisting suggestion to hire a car.
I have also, suggested DH invite his dad here in January when he will be in the country anyway. Is it not awful that neither of us know how to feel about it? I think very much his father should see the house, etc.. (They'd see each other anyway, they'd meet for a meal in London) but DH most emphatically doesn't want his step mother here. So, we are trying to find out whether fil will be in Europe alone or a deux. I hate this sort of thing.I really wish we could be a great big happy family. I'd love that. In laws all getting on, even if a not tight lipped.
I'd forgotten the drive down to Oxford. Here its a bit cross country, but not as bad as it was..

It's a beautiful day. I walked DW to the station, then walked home again. I feel very privileged. No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0 -
I am so bad at motivating myself when I'm alone. I haven't had an adult conversation since last Thursday.
I have two quotes to produce, three blog posts that I've actually considered, a new web page to market something that I've noticed nobody else is locally and an entire house to blitz.
I've managed to eat three sausage rolls, a star bar, consume a can of coke and wash my hair.. I might avoid work by going out and buying a new pink toolkit as the boys finally half inched it from me.
Did PN's internet give up the ghost?Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

Well I can obviously recommend it;), though I don't think they do mediation services as well:o.
There are times I'm glad that I have no family and certainly don't miss any bickering that may go on.
If you go, let me know how much you enjoyed it. ( That's certainty, how much and not if!).0
