Had middle son's parents' consultation on Thursday, he is doing extremely well and at this early stage, is predicted and working at 4 A's. He still doesn't understand why he has to do four whilst others are doing 3 despite being told it is because he is one of the brighter ones...he just sees it as being unfair.
He is also now doing some singing (he started his musical life as a singer rather than a drummer), he did a duet on Thursday, covering the Glee version of Smooth Criminal...NOT what people would expect him to sing bearing in mind he is into bands like Stone Sour, Metallica, Slipknot and Avenged Sevenfold! In doing the duet, he surprised the pants off his music teachers, they didn't realise he could sing!We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.0 -

I've decided not to be tempted to stretch myself for any house.... no borrowing. If I can't afford one, just walk away - no point coming up with schemes and loans to stretch .... just to sit on a bean bag for years and regret it when I could have been scoffing indian takeaways.
At the back of your mind know that, in the fullness of time, a trust fund will come your way. So if you did take a mortgage or buy somewhere that would need improvements, you will eventually be able to do that.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. Upset tingly he threw all these puddings away. He said weirdly most of these puds were a piece of chocolate cake. Even from a Greek restaurant.
I think work are worried by how much weight he's lost recently and are adding pudding onto his supper menu.
Why didn't he just scoff free chocolate cake?I like clothes by FWM but they are for young waifs.
I need the sort of coat that can comfortably cover a minibus in winter.
I've met you!
That blue coat would suit both your figure and your colouring beautifully - minibusses need not apply.PasturesNew wrote: »or, you could always add to your list of house goodies one of those trainer pools..... not sure if you've seen them but they're like a tank that you swim in, but the water flow matches your speed so you never advance.... swimming on the spot. More for rich triathletes than having a good swim though
Sort of a treadmill swimming pool? Sounds interesting - but one of the best things about swimming is the feeling of floating and being held up, and I'm not sure a treadmill would be quite the same, somehow....much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0 -
DS1 is home nursing a sore throat and cough. He tells me that someone in his work sent him to the doctor. As in, phoned a (local to work) private doctor and arranged for him to be seen within the hour. All paid for by the company. He wasn't desperately ill, hadn't taken time off work, didn't have a temperature. He didn't even feel the need to see a doctor- he was right. Apparently the company have some sort of contract with a private GP service. I was very surprised that this sort of service is offered to fairly low grade employees.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. pastures new
Not new, not pristine, clearly.
But still folded on original lines.

He just doesn't eat free food when stressed.
Sme people go off food when stressed , some people comfort eat.
However, DH does have a huge appetite. He often says he's stuffed at a table with others then when we leave he looks at me and says, 'I need FOOD'.
Before the Np meet up he had a 'snack'.0 -
Less amusing, DS1 had a landlord inspection of the property him and his mates are renting last week. They have only been there 8 weeks, so a bit excessive IMHO. On leaving she said she would be in touch with their grades! Apparently she intends marking each room out of 10 for tidiness! I know they are not long out of education, but really!I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. When they get their school reports, they should take a red pen to any errors in it, and return it with her marks out of 10 for being a landlord, including 0 / 10 for appreciation of the right to quiet enjoyment....much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0 -
If my landlord inspected our flat and gave us a tidiness score I would hand my notice in the next day. Some people just don't "get" being a landlord and should stick to investing elsewhere IMO.0
