You can furnish a house from a combination of freecycle, local charity shops, auctions and gifts of second hand items from people you know. Cheap tins of paint can put most other things right. It is only shockingly bad kitchens and bathrooms that can't so easily be rectified on the cheap. ETA oh and things like the central heating system, so it is worth getting that and electrics checked.
Until I find a house to buy I've no idea what it'll be like or where.... or how much.0 -
I have edited to try not to be confrontational but you've aleady quoted
I mean a proper freezer, perfectly positioned in the kitchen of your own houseSorry, I wasn't clear about it.

So a friend told me today she is moving abroad and will be claiming her uk benefits and this is legal when I expressed horror. Is this right? Really? I know you can claim benefits from eu country in which you reside but I didn't know you could live in one and claim for your own more generous ones....0

Well that's ok too. When we moved to a bigger house, we bought new sofas and beds. However we were also given all our bedroom furniture, as where we moved from was built in. My point was we don't all get new straight off. And seven years on I'm still living with carpet I want to change and a grey bathroom suite. They'll get addressed when we have the time and money. Not everyone is wealthy.
I was ill and couldn't work when we first moved and since then DH has been ill too. As a result our priority switched from making a dream house to having somewhere nice and liveable but with the mortgage paid off as a priority in case the SHTF again and we can't work. Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? I've heard it's legal, say, for a EU citizen with a family to come here and claim for their family/kids back home and send them the money.
Benefits board would know all the ins/outs.0 -

Maybe its an anti posh alert, but I never expect to buy a new sofa. Ever, All mine are second hand, some are antique but bought cheaply or family cast offs. One of my sofas was a tenner from a news paper then covered with beautiful fabric,. The only expensive sofa we have was my parents and is now the one that the kiwi, big dog and I are currently sitting on:o. One day I'll recover it, I don't want it in the cheese room but need to do a Rubix cube of the rooms before it can be where I want it.:)

I have two winter coats.
I put one down on the sofa last night. I was in for 45 minutes before I had to go out again. Picked it up and Doozerdog had puked on it.
So, I have to wear the other one. Came back from school run this morning to have a quick shower before an appointment. Put my coat on the bed whilst in shower. Came out to find Twozerdog merrily ripping the stuffing out of it.
Not great. Would anybody like a dog? One pukes on soft things only, the other one has a thing about clothing labels.Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

Westie had been puking a lot a while ago, and we never found out why. It was the same week in week out : for a couple of days he was fine, then a puke, then didn't eat for a day, was fine again, and after a couple of days a puke again. We had stool and bloodtest done, but nothing was found and he's fine now. Oh well.0 -

Doozer is collecting my new ebay dining chairs today, I hope. I've coveted them for a long time but won't justify the cost new.Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

No, no more dogs. Dog dog is still crying little boy. Its getting tiresome in the extreme now. She's going now......my head is belting.
I have no winter coat but I have seen one on ebay. I'm not sure......its long, full length. I might look like an rotund monk in it. Its not exactly what I was after. It would lo better if I could wear heeled boots with it. But it looks warm. Its also black.0
