I can see it's getting colder in England as you've gone back to typing with your mittens on :T

I love your misspellings and typos. It's very human and fun to work out what exactly you're trying to say.

It's a bit like talking to an amiable drunk only without the annoying bits.

    :o:rotfl:

Its a bad day gen, its a bad day, Fingers are the only bits really working, and only on the right hand.

Going to have to get lift if I go out, not safe to drive or anything.

Edit...but nothing hurts much...so that's good...its just not that accessible today. Walkingnlike a zombie or frakenstines monster , I told my body, that was YESTERDAY. ;)

Chickens of the nation thank you Lj.

The mixed weight free range eggs are cheaper I think?

Real free range are better still, when we buy ( premium) eggs and compare them to Home ones we get very smug. :o

The tiny cost difference is far outweighed by the value I get from a tasty enjoyable meal or snack, with a cleaner conscience!:)

I'm glad I'm sneaking an internet break whilst eating lunch :)

Still thinking of you, NDG. Hope all is ok.

Welcome to the thread loanranger :)

Single, no children, very recently (early Oct) bought my first house. Love mushrooms - had a few years where I was deprived of them due to living with someone with an allergy, thankfully those years ore over (and not just because of the mushrooms). Also a lover of Marmite.

I had to teach a nutrition unit recently. You don't need much more than bout 60g of good "meat/equivalent" protein per day. Pork's not red meat and has less saturated fat, more like chicken sort of.

Protein's one of the dietary components that make you feel full up fastest.

I'll pretty much eat antything that doesn't eat me first.

Though mince that's bleeding turns my stomach.

I shouldn't say this, as it's the NP thread, but probably you ought to take the plunge and buy somewhere. Your benchmark lowest-risk strategy is to own a place to live, and at the moment you are shorting property compared to your benchmark. That's quite a brave thing to do! Interest rates are low and property prices are rising, at least in the very short term, which is as long as my extremely cloudy crystal ball can see. So, you may be better off making a purchase that isn't 100% perfect than leaving things much longer.
I do keep looking; spent 2 hours this morning looking. Nothing I like, unsure of any of the areas .... indecisive.

Maybe I should just "buy anything".... but then I look and they're still not what I want, so I back off.

I am not young - it seems mad to "buy anything" as I won't feel settled, or I'll feel I cheated myself and skimped

If we ignore my house pot, which needs to be spent to put a small roof over my head..... I'm much lower down the economic scale.

The post's very well-arranged in our block - there are 12 boxes, each accessed from the main hall with an individual key, and a box outside with the flat number on it.
    !
My ideal post situation is to be able to have/choose a letter box that drops mail directly onto my mat inside my home ..... and the space/potential to be able to have some box outside if I were to ever decide to receive parcels.

The trouble with post boxes is - what if you go away for 7-10 days just when several organisations (banks, HMRC, whoever) randomly decide to send you a large C4 envelope containing a brochure. There's simply not the room in those boxes for them to [a] fit be secure.

6 years ago, I was in a block of 8 studio flatlets with a communal hallway. Postie used to shove the mail through the letterbox into the communal hallway. Sometimes the communal doors outside weren't shut properly by others. The next person in would pick up the lot and lob it all onto an abandoned TV unit under the stairs..... anybody/anybody had complete free access to anybody's mail any time.... including random strangers passing who might have just tried the door.

My individual door didn't have a letterbox - although the couple of people who owned their studio flats had a letterbox on the door, the postman wouldn't come in and put them through - if the postman gained entry he'd just lob everything onto the abandoned TV cabinet.

Might seem a daft question, but I've never met people like you lot before ... this "2 degrees" lark.... I always thought you were all meaning "I did a 3-4 year degree course... twice". But I know you've got a Dr thingy .... so is "2 degrees" insider/shorthand for "I'm a Dr"?
