We drove completely out of the way to get there on what was already a three hour drive but but and Oh. My. I had the onion jam one and it was the nicest burger I have ever had by a clear mile. Nothing like a burger I've had here. I can almost taste it now. The bread was totally different - soft, warm, perhaps a bit like Brioche? and the juice was dark, almost caramelised and soaking into the bun. I've been craving one for weeks.

I'm not sure if I'm happy I went or sorry that I'm now tormented by that burger. If anyone goes to Seattle, do not miss it!
(Apologies to NDG if reading makes you feel ill)
Thanks Doozer. DH is doing some work in Seattle at the moment and loves burgers, even though he can only have an occasional one without trimmings (which makes it even more important that it is a good burger). The recommendation for Mac n Jacs was great, so I know this one will be fab too. Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? Most moles are not cancerous, any doubts, please check next time you visit your GP.

What else could I do? That's all they serve! Some idiot booked it for his birthday...
In restaurants, I often choose the dish which looks the worst, like it completely wouldn't work and would be horrible, on the grounds that they often turn out to be rather good. This strategy did not work in bubbledogs. Whatever it was it isn't on the menu any more. I think it was called a misodog or something and involved wasabi and ginger. It was truly appalling.
I didn't drink champagne though, their one redeeming factor was that they had a few half decent bottled beers.0 -

Disown the friend?
Just drink and say you were full on bubbles?
I love horseradish but am not keen on wasabi. It confuses even me that one. (I upset DH by often opting for horseradish over mustard on a steak at home).
Kitchenaid (whose autocorrect to kitchen Sid I liked MUCH better, is coming home to day. :j:j
I thought maybe a pumpkin and spice swirled cheese cake? I know I cannot eat it, but I'd love it, and I could pretend I was eating it.

My imagination, or does Halloween get bigger each year?
Dislike the concept of dressing up to frighten people and the idea of T or T; maybe I'm just getting old.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. My nan, who was 87 when I got married, out can canned all the young guests at my wedding. At 83, she got so drunk on holiday in Spain, she sat in the middle of the road directing traffic.
She only got old a month or so before she died (at nearly 91), as a result of a needle in her foot giving her blood poisoning. We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.

I don't like the dressing up to be 'bone chilling' or bigger kids (or youths) being threatening. but I like kids in funny witch outfits, or dressed as ghosts..
Similarly, I like t and t when its sweet and neighbourly, little kids coming to the door, getting a nice small bit of 'treat' and being neighbourly. I do not like one bit bigger kids grabbing handfuls of stuff or egging houses or anything like that.
We get no trick or treaters out here, but I have theme decorated.0 -
Mrs Generali's Granny still does the meals on wheels aged 90 and a couple of years back got an OAM (a bit like an OBE) for doing stuff like Girl Guides and MoW. She also had a job doing the census door-to-door on Magnetic Island until she was well over 85.
Her drivers licence is renewed each time on the basis that she promises the Doctor not to carry passengers.0 -
lemonjelly wrote: »GDB, what software do you use? I ask, as it is being considered at work (I'm a 1 man band, & have been told to investigate ways of doing more for less...) & this kind of software is the style of thing being suggested.
I use Dragon NaturallySpeaking, which is more or less the only game in town. There is speech recognition software built into Microsoft Windows, but I have not tried to use it seriously.
Dragon sells several different versions of their software, but I cannot see much point in buying more than the basic version. I see that the basic version of the software is only £43 on Amazon at the moment.
You do need a better microphone than usually comes in the box with the basic software. I strongly recommend buying a USB microphone, as most of the problems people have are with the built-in soundcards in their PCs. (The USB microphone has its own soundcard as part of the USB plug or cable.) This one is okay for £25. http://shop.nuance.co.uk/store/nuanceeu/en_GB/pd/ThemeID.26429600/productID.254178900
I am using quite a low power PC (core 2 Duo processor running at 2.2 GHz), and I really feel that the software would benefit from a better processor. Unless you are into video editing or gaming in a big way, speech recognition is probably the most processor-intensive application you will run.
