Has it become worse since then? Honestly, I didn't notice.
Cannot use Est!e Lauder anymore
I have probably hundreds of poundsworth of cosmetics I'm too trepidatious to use ATM.
It flares. Sometimes nothing, particularly face ( aveeno cream is amazing, and rosex from doctor is 'ok) eyes almost always bad by night time. About one week in four they have blepharitis. ( honestly, I clean them! )
Edit ...I'd say my skin is ok now, but the eye guy was 'oooooh, yeah, '.
My sibling has it, hers was worse, but not in eyes at all. My dad has it, again, not in eyes at all. I have VERY different skin to either of them, far more like my mother. I'm surprise it happened to me.
It didn't seem to flare in the sun thinking about it, in fact, I think the days I lay in the sun ( something I haven't done for YEARS) really helped. Maybe I just relaxed then?0 -
LIR, I'm amazed that you seem to cope so well with having builders underfoot the whole time. I find it very stressful just to have decorators in the house. In fact, anybody working in the house.
I hadn't really thought about vasodilators much, but there seem to be loads of uses other than dealing with erectile dysfunction. Dealing with hypertension seems to be top of the list.No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0 -

Builders have been more stressful this year than last year, they know that, we've talked about it and moved on. Its all good.. I'd rather it was doozer than most people I can tell you that for nothing!
There is stress and stress. I haven't the stress of employer imposed timetables, mine are mine and the critters (mainly big dog's bladder ATM). I don't t have to worry about little people things (the tyrannies of playgrounds, the complexities of a flawless diet versus social ostracisation or inability to make their own self control when older) I don't have to worry about the future they face (I sometimes think that would have stymied me if had been a parent). I don't have to face sadistic bosses, or even worry about pensions (though when things go better I do think perhaps I should have maintained a pension!)
The me ten years a go would have mercilessly ridiculed a me who tried to say my plate was full of stress. It has some unusual stressors, but in the general scheme of things I think these more than balance out and I really do believe I have nothing I cannot handle, though I do think sometimes I don't handle it brilliantly. I would like to be able to relax better when not forced to.. But I have never been a. Moderate sort of person, so maybe that's how it is.

Curiously, one of the things that has reduced my stress was actually very easy to achieve. I simply installed dictation software on my PC. I taught myself to type on an old manual typewriter, and I never learnt to touch type. So, being able to talk to the computer is much quicker and less stressful for me. I am sure that other people would not find it an advantage, as the dictation software is quite buggy and make quite a lot of errors (including that one).No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0

That's the Scottish system.
Survey and valuation for mortgage purposes all in advance, and all online nowadays too.
Offers are binding, no gazumping, no gazundering, no fannying about with exchange and completion dates, you set an entry date and that's it.
I moved into my last house within 30 days of first viewing it.hamish might end up subject to legal proceedings when he woke up the night after a particularly heavy night on the single malt and found that he now owned most of aberdeen.
There's not much I haven't bought on ebay after a session with the single malt.....
But even my evil drunken twin draws the line at houses.:rotfl:“The great enemy of the truth is very often not the lie – deliberate, contrived, and dishonest – but the myth, persistent, persuasive, and unrealistic.

Sadly, her operation was unsuccessful.
My stepfather is bravely battling with his failing memory and couldn't even recall when the op was (yesterday) and from his call today I gather the following;
either the ducts are too damaged for the stent/s or too awkward to get at from going down the throat.
The surgical team will meet tomorrow and decide whether to cut + go under the ribs to do it or not.
The prognosis isn't good (if that is the right term) as if the stent can't repair the ducts then I guess she will have liver failure. I have no idea how long that takes.
@ 74 it is unlikely she would get a transplant as I would imagine they go to younger patients
They did insert a tube into the pancreas to drain away all the bile and she now feels absolutely dreadful.
We wont visit the hospital until we find out what happens tomorrow.
I am a bit shocked to be honest as she has always been incredibly fit and active, always slim, never smoked or drunk alcohol (odd glass of wine) and climbed mountains and did 30 mile hikes as her hobby until a year ago.
Her only weakness has been to suffer with colitis /IBS for many years and this disease is related to that.PSC has a significant association with ulcerative colitis, an inflammatory bowel disease primarily affecting the large intestine. As many as 5% of patients with ulcerative colitis may progress to develop primary sclerosing cholangitis [5] and approximately 70% of people with primary sclerosing cholangitis have ulcerative colitis.[3]

FC, I'm very sorry to hear that. Take care of yourself, huh?0

Viagra was originally being developed as a hypertension treatment. It was only when they got to the stage of testing it on healthy volunteers and started getting reports of some unusual but beneficial side effects that they decided to develop it for ED.Curiously, one of the things that has reduced my stress was actually very easy to achieve. Learning touch typing (when I was about 15, by myself, from a book, using a manual typewriter) was one of the most useful things I ever did. I've recently made DS learn (from an online tutor). I think it will be particularly helpful to him because of being dyslexic and also having difficulties with the fine motor control of a pen because his fingers are double jointed.I am a bit shocked to be honest as she has always been incredibly fit and active, always slim, never smoked or drunk alcohol (odd glass of wine) and climbed mountains and did 30 mile hikes as her hobby until a year ago.
Oh FC. I am so sorry to hear that. You are making me remember when my mum first got really seriously ill. It's awful, isn't it? It doesn't matter how old you are or how old your mum is, your mum is your mum and when things don't look good for her it's dreadful. Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.0 -

Actually I don't worry about all of that - I'm a Bad Mother, though. I couldn't ever care less about all the boasting about children who were potty-trained 3 days after birth, or whatever, and playgrounds / arguments about working vs not working mothers, all the rest of it, just roll over me.
There's few things more judgmental or crusading than mothers of young children, on the whole, though!HAMISH_MCTAVISH wrote: »I moved into my last house within 30 days of first viewing it.
You can do that here, if you are a get-on-with-it type, not in a chain.
When my Dad bought his Chambers building in 2004, it took 13 days from when he saw it to completion. But he's not the procrastinating type....Sadly, her operation was unsuccessful.

FC, I'm so sorry to hear that - are you OK? Have you spoken to her, or is she still drugged up?
<hugs>...much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0 -
fc123, sorry to hear about your Mum. Hope they do come to a positive decision about the op.
