I would definitely have Lydia's kids ( or michaels). Or NDG's but she has a troop lined up for them. I have high hopes for future np offspring I can borrow at meet ups when ( I'm sure others will confirm) I'm on best behaviour:)
It is half term, the energy levels when I get home from work knackered are 'challenging'. I will ask DW to package them up and post them to you for a few days :)
    I think....

That sort of reads a good news doesn't it? In a nutshell, eyes are OK but affected by the mystery neurological illness that is as yet an unknown?
Any more news from the London docter you saw?

    .

No, back in a few weeks.

Yes, very good news yesterday. Also, him having confirmed those minor diagnoses helps, cementing in little things stops them being considered vague IME. He did say 'you know you should see a dermatologist soon? ' ......:rotfl: I'm not in a rush, rosacea isn't life threatening and we know it cannot be cured for any body or treated with antibiotics like a normal person. Its really under control too:D. I think its directly reacting to food and stressing mainly.

    Feeling happy. :)

There's something I want to go to on Saturday evening. I've asked various people if they could babysit or have my kids round their place, but until this evening everyone I've asked is away for half term or otherwise busy that evening. Anyway, tonight I tried phoning a single parent friend. She can't come round here to sit, of course, because her own kids (younger than mine) need her at home. But I only need to be out between about 4:30 and 9:15 (or 9:30 at a pinch) so my kids won't need to go to bed and can be looked after at her house. So, I asked her. And she said yes. :) And then she asked if I could have her kids from 8:45 to 12:30 on a Saturday morning in a few weeks' time, which is fine because I had nothing booked for that morning. So now I don't have to feel I'm being burdensome to her planting my kids on her. :D

An excellent outcome for you both.

I found this strangely relaxing (SFW - has sound though).

    NHS says:
While the exact cause of rosacea is unknown, several triggers have been identified that may make the condition worse. These include:
    • exposure to sunlight
    • stress
    • exercise
    • cold weather (wind)
    • heat
    • the menopause
    • certain medications, such as vasodilator drugs
    • hot drinks
    • alcohol and caffeine
    • eating certain foods, such as spicy foods

Most of those triggers are on most people's everyday list - well not menopause - so more or less impossible to avoid without an entire change of lifestyle.
No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?

Ummm... was that meant for me? If so, then thank you muchly. :) You are lovely and I'm sure they'd enjoy spending time with you. Now we just need somebody to invent a transporter (a la Star Trek) so we can beam them direct to your house regardless of the intervening miles. :)
Yes it was ....how bizarre I quote Micheals's post as I don't recall reading it (sorry MS :))

Maybe you could all have free a retro seaside weekend when other house is sorted out.:)

I suppose it is if the rosacea is a symptom of other things rather than just a bit of random redness?
Good news though...I have high hops for London doc coming up with something concrete.

My mother had her op yesterday but we won't know the outcome until today I think.....so clever nowadays as they went down through her throat and then fitted the stent into the collapsed bile duct. No stitches or cutting.

Although stents in liver ducts aren't a common procedure, the use of stents in general are (in hearts and veins) is so we are hoping for a positive outcome.
i hate the stupid house buying game. it would be far better if all sellers had to instruct an independent survey (with liability to the eventual buyer) and then houses were just sold on ebay with everyone's bid being visible and the buyer being liable to pay whatever they offered. you could even use the "rep" system with buyers having to submit themselves to due diligence and being rated by the site and sellers being able to elect only to accept bids from buyers with a score over a certain level.

    .

Agreed. A system that is set up to be far more complicated than it needs to be.

OH's brother is about to exchange on his new house and his current house had to go to bids as the 1st day of viewings as about 8 parties turned up and 6 wanted it.

One came in 10% below asking about 4 days later citing the economy etc.....maybe he hangs around on HPC......to be told that it sold for 15k above asking.
Asking was 320 and he sold @ 335.

The one thing I do know is that there is always another dream house even though it doesn't feel like it at the time.

Does Claygate have a large retired population? If t does, the turnaround of new things should be quicker as more people die in the area than normal.

That wasn't meant to sound like it does...but YKWIM?!

    • exposure to sunlight. I use a factor fifty sunblock, its the best I can do!
    • stress not many people in my situation have the support of a saint like DH. I honestly feel well supported by him. I know I run 'taut' as a person but fight very hard to be laid back because I see what taut, fraught people end up like and I don't want that. I cannot be different but I can try and react differently. Do I get stressed? Yes, but honestly, I live a pretty stress free lifestyle and much of the stress is my own making. Not much can be done about that.
    • exercise:rotfl: :o

Actually, it does get worse when I move. :rotfl:
    • cold weather (wind)haven't been through winter with it yet, that I've noticed
    • heat yes, a little,
    • the menopauseomg, I suppose that won't be long, joy.
    • certain medications, such as vasodilator drugs oh, hadn't checked drugs
    • hot drinks haven't noticed
    • alcohol and caffeinedon't drink anymore, but yes, when I did have a glass of wine I looked like an old wino. Caffeine haven't notice correlation.
    • eating certain foods, such as spicy foodsdon't get to eat much spice now, but don't get much variety ATM anyway. :(

Exactly, the treatment is usually low dose antibiotic forever. Because of everything else its been deemed unwise to do that with me, so ....

    I'll live. :)

of course hamish might end up subject to legal proceedings when he woke up the night after a particularly heavy night on the single malt and found that he now owned most of aberdeen.

I hate it too - although I think the Scottish system is even worse. Not sure most people buy and sell enough houses to build up a rating as per your suggestion, though.

Vasodilator drugs are on most people's everyday list? Little blue pills must be more common than I realised. ;)

Oh, and lir, you're years and years off menopause, so don't even think it.

Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.

I still think it's funny that when we met I saw you and had no idea that you had rosacea and you looked at me and had no idea that I had rosacea. There's a lot to be said for tinted moisturiser and Estee Lauder products!

Has it become worse since then? Honestly, I didn't notice.
