. That is an expensive foible of his. The lights we like that are available in bathroom safe versions are of course, several times the amount of lights we like that aren't.

Its not, its that zone three thing viva and I were talking about last week......but even if it were....I could just put in [STRIKE]ugly[/STRIKE]safe ones until building regs saw then put in whatever I wanted. Not that I am going to. Just saying, that these things are a little pedantic at times.
The ones I like that aren't safe are some thing like a hundred and twenty each,, the ones I like that are safe are some thing like founders and twenty each. For a little ring of rubber in a comparativelt safe area of the bathroom seems a little extreme. Baring in mind in the bathroom that has no extraction, is very damp and not safe we have an old fashioned exposed bulb and granny shade from precious tenants and its been there, judging from the shade, from at least the seventies and presumably caused no problems!0 -
We know very little about wine tasting, other than OH has access to professionals for opinions.
If you are interested in the source and growers then naked wines would be an interesting place to start.

Thanks, I have sent it on to OH.0 -

Yeh. Thats the problem with professionals. They want to be professional, using all that expensively acquired know how they are charging you for and have indemnities for, for when they get it wrong.0 -

I understand that part P of the electrical regs makes it not as simple as that, sadly. If you get an electrician in to fit the replacement unsafe lamp, he probably will refuse. If you do it yourself, you are apparently committing an offence as it's in the bathroom.
I'm not an expert, but that's the gist of it. Of course, the regs are overkill (geddit!) but they are law, I'm afraid. No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0 -
Or look like your neighbours will have richer pickings than you.
I wonder if insurers define inaccessible as no-one can get access, so if someone managed it then by definition it must have been accessible.
I've emailed our insurers to find out.
On the plus side, the burglar came in over the worktop, and back out the same way (leaving fingerprints and shoe prints) and went within a foot of my jewellery hook next to the stove - which had my engagement ring, another ring, and a gold necklace OH's mother gave to me, which had belonged (in its previous life as a watch-chain) to her grandfather....much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0 -

A lazy stereotype, based on a female being grumpy simply because she wants to, even though the reason for grumpiness has been addressed, & the 3rd party has even gone to lengths to make sure grumpiness does not happen, yet this makes the female grumpier because she wants to be!vivatifosi wrote: »Is this post working? Blackberries in store: £2.00 per punnet. However the freegan I saw in the bushes around the perimeter was picking them for free. They'd even brought their own punnet. Had managed to get quite a big crop too. Made my day.
I was at the bowling green recently, & there appears to be a massive crop growing there!
Sadly, we're away tonight, & the game saturday has been called off. I go away for 5 days next monday!:eek:It's getting harder & harder to keep the government in the manner to which they have become accustomed.0 -
Rant alert - friends who don't behave like friends.
I've mentioned the friend who sent a wedding invitation which was fairly explicit in the no plus one category. It's a weird thing, as I've always felt a little distant from him anyway. TBH I'm not too inclined to go, & I have learned that the stag do invitations have been sent out. I haven't had one, though having seen one, I REALLY wouldn't want to go on this event anyway, so saves me making an excuse.
Another friend from the same circle has become very aloof recently. For a while, we both maintained regular contact. However this has tailed off significantly in the past 6 months or so. Granted now he has a baby time is a factor, but how long does it take to send a text or similar. Anyhows, I feel that it is predominantly me making the first move (hi mate, when you free etc etc). Getting very very fed up with responses along the lines of "dunno, will let you know" followed by a series of excuses as to why they're not free at all for 4 weeks, even for 20 minutes to drop off a present or similar.
I'm getting very very fed up with this now, & am sorely tempted to send a snotty email or text, but know the likely consequence of such an action.
Having read this back, I'm not sure why I posted this. I'll leave it as a cathartic exercise I suppose, but I'm getting very annoyed with people who are supposed to be friends not behaving like friends should. It's getting harder & harder to keep the government in the manner to which they have become accustomed.0
