Good mornings nice peeps - off to Chambers, and then court. Have a fun and productive day!...much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0

Its a beautiful morning though, less 'harvest' than yesterday. I have a uncomfortable day of errands and bits and bobs.0

Got home some time around 1am and went straight to bed. Up at 9am and got straight on with catching up with NP news..gotta do the importants stuff first.
MissK ..if the allotment is a hobby then fine, but don't make it another 'must do job'. You are always doing 'productive' things and some less productive time is normal, could you have a siesta to help with feeling more rested? I probably am too 'unproductive' these dayson Saturday I slept for most of the afternoon as a combination of the heat/late nights Thusr,Fri/sight seeing had worn me out. OH and friend just sat and read books, we were going to Venice but all of us were tired so settled for being refreshed and in good spirits for having dinner .
Trip advisor came up trumps. A fabulous find. Restaurant specialized in ham, so pig was included in everything. They advsed us not to choose secondi until after the primi..wise move..I could not manage another course. My primi was a carbonara and it was delicious, OH had a platter of 36month old ham to start, sacchetini, then lamb chops wrapped in parmaham and a crust. No pud but sorbetto which was a melted sorbet which you drank. Wine was Amarone and really did taste of black currants. OH has been scanning the wine labels into vivino app which was great for learning about what we were drinking. Does anyone else use it (silvercar has other sources of info I know). He has previously used it when choosing wine to buy to drink at home but this was the first time we have used it on holiday.
Sue, very pleased to read that you have had a holiday although I am wondering if it is anything but restful. The mess is a right of passage. How does youngest cope with holidays away, as that must really disrupt the routine for him. Did you get a break or does it make it even harder for you?
Cheesy mash I can eat, cheesy chips sounds revolting. Oven chips taste like soap to me. We cook HM chips in the top of oven in a roasting tin of sunflower oil, although they are a rare treat..might do them tonight.
Hope the houses progress as desired for Nikks and micheals.
I should go and get on with doing something useful I suppose.0 -
I gradually got to like viewing houses. A friend viewed over 100 before he bought his last house.
And it's exactly like ours! But -it has a driveway, is on a quiet street kids could play in and it's bang next to the town centre, park, river. Hard to imagine a better location. :T
I'd better not look in any estate agents windows though while I'm up here.
Edit: found out how to get smileys back! There is no honour to be had in not knowing a thing that can be known - Danny Baker0 -

We know very little about wine tasting, other than OH has access to professionals for opinions.
If you are interested in the source and growers then naked wines would be an interesting place to start.

I think its a cruel irony that no sooner had I pretty much resolved to do that wine course I got on pills that preclude alcohol and of course, mess with my taste buds so profoundly. If he exists God must know I have a keen sense of humour, that's all I can think.0 -
Suffice it to say that the mere mention of Amarone had my taste buds firing on all cylinders!
Bored today, August is not great for Bugslet's Super Duper Trucking Co, on the grounds that everywhere is closed. I'll be bored tomorrow as well - grrrr.0 -

Of course, its the big ferragosto 'this week' Pfft. I had forgotten. Silly us with our puny bank holidays.
My architect is digging his heels in about bathroom safe lights I think.. That is an expensive foible of his. The lights we like that are available in bathroom safe versions are of course, several times the amount of lights we like that aren't.
