You also met a pile of wet sand, under which there was An Isaac. We were all a bit tired, having left London at sparrow fart (5.30am, I think).
It's funny you caught that... I'd updated the post, pressed save and it didn't show up. It's not showing up on my screen either!

    how bizarre.

Yes, I met a pile of wet sand.... accompanied by at least one person who felt so cold he was almost turning blue, but had to make it look like he was enjoying himself as he was on holiday.

That's exactly what we have. And ....yes there is way to access the taps. From the other side. :).

Its the best way to make a bathroom look bigger IMO.

Yes, but I take PN's point about access. My en suite bath has walls on three sides, of which the long side is an upstairs exterior wall. Will have to bear that in mind if I ever replace the bathroom - but it's not horrible so I probably won't ever feel it's worth the expense.
I like a nice bar. We got what FC described as the 'beautiful people seats'. :rotfl: Which was good too.

Being in the window of the bar was v handy because I could see you all there as I came towards the door and knew I was in the right place. Our table in the restaurant was very secluded and good for hearing conversation, but not so good for seeing because it had much less lighting than just about any other table in the place.
    No michaels?

    No, circumstances intervened. :(
    And no chewy either :(
    Or NDG :(
All of whom I was expecting would be there until shortly before it happened, but were unavoidably unable to be there.

Will have to have another one soon. :)

Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.

Maybe it's just me, but why do you have a cheese grater/slicer on the roof of your bathroom?

Because cheesily, we shower together, of course.

I was in there with doozer and the plumber earlier taking photos. I reckon its five unless we're friendly when six could squeeze in but that three or four leaves more room

    I also thought that.

What's been suggested amounts to creating a selection tool that can be used over and over again for future appointments, and which will enable the person doing the hiring to base their selection on something relevant rather than what boils down to not much more than a whim? And that's in order to appoint somebody who'll be doing important and responsible work and getting paid tens of thousands of pounds, or probably more if the appointment lasts any significant length of time? And in the business world that's not worth half a day of one person's effort?

Nothing was actually needed to convince me that my attitudes would never ever fit in the business world, but if I hadn't already been convinced, I would be now. In my world, spending significant amounts of time devising reliable and accurate ways of assessing how good people are at things they're supposed to be able to do is a huge part of the everyday work, so I suppose it just spills over into our view of selecting people for jobs too.

I love data too. Especially when I can display it graphically. :D
I use excel a lot both at work and at home. My piece de resistance of excel programming even managed to get admiring comments from a friend who's a professional programmer, which, as a mere dabbler, I was pretty chuffed with. :)

We're not selecting based on a whim. We're selecting on several defined criteria including Excel skills which we are measuring in a way that is good enough for us.

I don't see what writing an exam paper does to help me. I don't really give a shut what it does to help the candidates TBH. I've spent hours on this process and I'm not going to waste even more time to meet some spurious definition of fair.

It's going to be a hot day in Sydney today, 33C, and my air con has broken down :(.

What a terrible pain. It's been about 11C and lashing it down most of the day/week here. Swap you?
