Cling to the Cheshire aspect and ignore the Merseyside change!

On the other forum I inhabit, it would seem parents are always parents. Plenty of ladies with offsping in their 30s and 40s and they all worry about them.

I think fathers probably worry about daughters more than sons.

My Dad certainly didn't seem bothered about my Bruv having to change a tyre, I noted from his email (-:

My parents both feel a great affection for Liverpool - along with a definite relief that they left it.

I lived in hertfordshire from '99 to '03 and love mushrooms.
That makes me the perfect NP. :p

Do other NPs with adult children still fret about them?

    Yes.

Judging by my own mum , parental concern is an inexhaustable supply.

You can strike a happy balance which I think, from what you write your NDG dad isconsiderate and caring, without interfering, being intrusive or clinging on.

He is also demonstrtaing that he expects his son to do manly stuff and his daughters to be cosseted.

He certainly doesn't expect men in general to be able to change tyres - he can't do it, I know that for sure, because my Mama and I once changed one on his car for him. But I think he might excuse pregnant daughters from tyre-changing duties.

Are you going to have polished floorboards in there, or something else?

Oh yes. You never stop. Mine is late 30s but, you never stop being concerned for those you care for.
Also there's a very true saying I'd pass on to all parents "The problems don't go, they just change" ;)

These it turns out are too far gone for smart. We are about quarter of the way fath rough the room (going at a very leisurely pace) and found about four that certainly aren't going to pass muster. That said, we quite like them, and like that they are really decrepit.

We're thinking about keeping them as wretched looking as possible really.

Yes, not the best for smart polished floor boards! Not as they are!

DD was once out with a former boyfriend when he had puncture. She changed the wheel. He was clueless.
