Has the decanter ever been knocked previously?
My in laws had a glass chopping board explode when no=one was in the room. Apparently it is possible for glass to be damaged but the breakage occur at a later point.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. We hardly eat eggs and so generally apply the float test rather than going by the date on the carton. Milk we do tend to respect the date though, yoghurt will get thrown out if it is more than 2 days over but we try and eat it up when it gets close anyway. Bread we use till it tastes funny.
