... enough time ...
This is a well known tactic. That's why it's essential to beef everything up immediately.0 -
Beefing up duly done, sharpish - window closed unless we're upstairs, infra-red alarm across it and the back door.
Bruv stayed here last night, as he's going to a wedding at Westminster Abbey today. We were talking about "letters after one's name", co-incidentally. I'm entitled to call myself "Miss NDG LLM, barrister-at-law, member of the Honourable Society of the Middle Temple" as is OH, except he's LLB instead of LLM.
Bruv was saying that he's allowed to call himself "Mr Bruv LLB, Barrister (non-practising)" but in addition, he is allowed to do what only past attendees from two schools in the country are permitted to do, add letters to his name to show the school he attended. As as Old Boy from Westminster, he's therefore entitled to add "OW" after his name, but doesn't choose to avail himself of the opportunity.......much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0 -

Well, someone would be bound to ask after his health, wouldn't they?0 -

"Allowed to call himself"?
"only past attendees from two schools"
Do me a favour.
[NP mode off]
Sorry, but what a load of pompous self-righteous b0ll0x

Exactly so, which is why he doesn't bother doing any of it, for fear it would make him look a prize idiot....much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0 -

Maybe your bro doesn't use it, but I bet plenty of others do.
But besides that, it's the notion itself I object to.0 -

Bruv has more sense than that. Fortunately for him.
He's also apparently entitled to marry in Westminster Abbey, and OH was trying to persuade him to take it up last night, just so that he could have a Hari Krishna / rock festival / bishop-and-!!!!! wedding there. OH reckoned it would be worth it. Bruv reckons it's a slightly drastic reason to get married....much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0
