Wonderful news and I don't think it is unreasonable for them to complete at a date that suits you. The offer of furniture and a new offer of any help with transporting stuff still stand.
Edit: I forgot to make a joke about French kissing before and it is probably lucky there was no mention of letters...
Thanks michaels - think I've only got a couple of car loads here (famous last words) and no large furniture. The rest is at my parents' so I'm sure they will help me [STRIKE]clear my junk[/STRIKE] move
Jokes about French kissing aside, I'm definitely going to have to get a bit more continental. I'm not sure I've ever felt more English than in the past couple of days.0 -

Georgia is definitely the USSR state to come out worst overall, IMO.

What about Belorussia? That's a pretty troubled place, AIUI.
I am back after a couple of fraught weeks after Mr Bugs was admitted to hospital, it's 'only' his dementia that is taking a turn for the worse, there was concern initially that his cancer had kicked on, but it's still lurking instead.
And last week my BP measured 224/126:eek::eek::eek:
Sounds horrible, and deeply stressful. Have an NP <hug>.
Exercise is supposed to really help lower BP, I think?...much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0 -

What'a wrong with feeling English?I'm surprised how much savings NP's make with quidco and topcashback and such. I've never really looked into it, because of a "can't be bothered" attitude I'm ashamed to say...maybe I should look into it.
It's very little bother to get quite a lot in cashback, IMO....much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0 -

Do you ever wonder what would happen if all the precious metal peeps were right. Noted recently that if we had any spare money now would have been a decent time for DH to replace his wedding ring.
Not really. I get regular full briefings for the pension fund that I'm trustee of. For a long time we had a precious metals position in gold, for a shorter time, silver and platinum. My fund took its profits and left the arena a while back. Although banks sometimes have a justifiably dubious rep, I think I'd trust them over fora chat on this one. Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? Most moles are not cancerous, any doubts, please check next time you visit your GP.

I went on my day trip to Worcester today. It was absolutely lovely. Big thanks to doozer for recommending Mac n Jacs, had an absolutely divine fig and goats cheese salad and the rest of the group loved theirs' too. Not all dogs.
Dog dog couldn't give a monkey about babies. Big dog adores the borrowed toddler and has patrolled when ever he is here since he was a baby.
Edit....we used to leave borrowed toddler in his car seat in the car when he was asleep (his mum and I) and big dog sat by the car. We'd check every few minutes that he hadn't woken up, but if he did wake up, big dog would immediately alert us. Also, no one but his mum or I was allowed near the car. Not even people she really likes. She's not that bright though and I'm not sure she would have stopped him swimming. Her breed were specifically bred for that sort of protective and nannying role as well as hunting.
Wasn't there a big dog who was a nanny in a childrens story? Maybe Peter Pan?
Sorry to read about everyone's hospital appointment hassles.........been having a lot of aggro with MIL's ones and waaaay too much faff to write about it here as you will go zzzzzzz BUT, she got an All Clear. Fit as a flea and looks like the suspected TIA's were anxiety attacks of some sort. Does add up. Mind you, her 1st mini attack was last October and it has taken this long to get results from all the scans and whatnot.
The downside is she does love the attention she gets from being 'ill' and is a bit prone to being 'tragic'. This writes badly and I don't want it to read that way but the siblings have all got together and have decided that some of her 'attention - seeking / creating Big Drama ' needs to be dealt with differently.0 -

We have had the same issue. Problem is she buys in to her own drama.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. I'm not really very English at all
Nothing at all wrong with being English (was a lovely feeling popping back up out of le chunnel this evening). I was just very conscious of going to greet people with a handshake, not understanding much of the conversation if it was held in another language (and the non-Brits were very proficient at swapping between languages). I felt like a bit of a stereotype.0 -
february is fast, only 4 months away.
some people have been waiting 3 years
I know, on some levels we're lucky to get anything given that it's not exactly life threatening / essential. OH is not pleased though esp. As one of her friends got an appointment within a month of seeing the GP at the same hospital only a couple of months back. I expect NHS cuts somewhere have lumped an extra burden on this hospital.
I have cheered her up by booking a holiday to Mexico. Also encouraging her to go to GP and see if she can get it changed to somewhere else / ask about what the future consequences of going private now are. Hopefully the GP can refer her to the hospital where she actually works instead but nothing is ever that easy!0 -

I know what you mean but then there is the problem of 'calling wolf' too. They would feel awful if she complained about something and they dismissed it...then she dropped down dead of it.
The main issue is she has no hobbies and a limited social network....so her day to day life revolves around her various soaps and shows, going to the cafe to natter to some similar souls and looking around the charity shops.
The rest of the time is spent on FB commenting on the grandchildrens posts (they have asked her not too) + posting up loads of those postcards with meaningful phrases and then gossiping about all the news/issues in the family (which is big).
She is a shopaholic too but is very good at keeping it within her budget....she alone could keep the poundshop in business I think.
What issues do you have with yours?0
