    Btw.....

Do you ever wonder what would happen if all the precious metal peeps were right. Noted recently that if we had any spare money now would have been a decent time for DH to replace his wedding ring.
  • OH finally (must have been waiting a month now) got letter through confirming appointment date to see specialist for initial consultation. Given a date in February! Totally ludicrous. NHS is a joke. You all need to pay more tax so we can get an earlier appointment.

    Not necessarily so, PN!

    I'm reading MSE's cashback guide at http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/shopping/cashback-websites

and it seems you can get paid by just walking into shops

Imagine that...50p in your account and the added bonus of being able to share with us on Facebook what an AMAZING life you lead. :D
You need a posh phone first..... then you need to get to the shops (fuel + parking).

I could do a selfie of me at the storefront collecting my cashback :)

    No idea what they said.

When I sold my house I could have bought gold .... if I'd done that and if I'd cashed out at the peak I'd have about £500-600k to spend on a house.

Hindsight's wonderful isn't it. What if it'd bombed.

That's not so bad for such an over subscribed service.....

Since neurologist bumped me from eyeclinic (still not sure why that happened) I have my next date through for the end of this month. They were meant to happen every 2 or three months, this will be about a year I think......

Cannot do eyeclinic privately...no private opinion out here for it.....even though saw ophthalmic guy (who I don't like much either...) privately.

February feels like for ever, but really its like...16 ish weeks......four monthly dates. Etc. (I'm trying hard to be positive....;))

You can do stuff to try and speed up next stage perhaps...monitor temperature etc .

Thanks lir, I have a nice night planned shortly when low fat and vegan will be tossed aside very quickly!;)

I'm sorry to hear that chewie, I think there are huge discrepancies depending where you live. Oop in the frozen wastes of the North, the NHS service has been outstanding for Mr Bugs and very speedy.

In dealing with Mum's ailments I was surprised how private medicine doesn't reach to all areas. She is in a fairly major city, but some services are just not available. No in patient mental health services full stop. In some cases certain things are available on the NHS (but subject to lengthy waits) but only exist privately in an out dated fashion eg pain relieving injections - only the basic ones exist privately, anything that has come about in the last 5-10 years isn't available. Even when you need to see a consultant there may only be one in the field and they may only have a private clinic once a fortnight or less often.

We're talking about asking for a change in neurologist. When I saw neurologist (by chance , not an appt) on Monday I just burst into tears so violent is my reaction to them. With gastro guy later I was laughing and joking, more me.

I don't think its going to help, long term if I feel so edgey and distrustful of the n!ero. I could come to London for that I think. Eye clinic, if it IS going to be every eight to twelve weeks would be better local, as its a faff, and I cannot see properly for a while afterwards. I don't much fancy trying to get home from London when very sore AND not able to see. It would be a taxi everytime without fail to the station, which would be costly, and then need to rely on help at the station. Tbh, I think I'd feel quite vulnerable.

Its hard enough sorting things out locally. Eyeclinic, is , IMO, horrid. Way, way worse than colonoscopies and any sort of injection (accept lumbar punctures in hospitals that feel grubby). And they always get cross when you flinch when they put eyedrops in...surely everyone flinches....they are putting stuff in your EYE!!!!!!

Tbh, I thi they are lucky I flinch and don't reflex slap, I do indeed hold my hands so worried am I that I might try and push them away :(

Funny the things that we all react to isn't it. Anyone else have eyeclinic, I am guessing my tests and drops are much like ones for diabetes or stuff......

I have a once-yearly retinal photograph taken. That also involves drops in the eye. I ask them to put the drops on the skin in the corner of my eye (near the bridge of the nose) and just let the drops trickle into the eye. That works well, without any fisticuffs at all. If they insist on trying to put drops direct into my eye, they soon find out how hard I can struggle.

LIR, this video is nonsense, isn't it? Heroic dog, or just ordinary canine friendliness? http://uk.news.yahoo.com/video/heroic-dog-blocks-baby-crawling-113500007.html
