Just booked my B&B at Hotels.com via Quidco. I get 10% cash-back. That's quite a good saving for a couple of extra clicks.

How much are the hotel paying for this online booking service, and why didn't they try to get my booking over the telephone when I rang up to check something?

    Where you going, GDB?
(and I have no idea why they wouldn't prefer to take direct business...)

Look out for the offers on hotels.com, 10 nights booked and the next night is free or similar.

Since we got Freesat box, been flicking to SC4 Digidol...

    ...and BBC Alba...

...and obviously don't understand it, so my question to the NP's....do any of you speak/understand welsh or gaelic?

No I don't. In my home town there was one school that taught gaelic, and it sounded very experimental. My goddaughter speaks Welsh.

My London students on field trips to Wales seemed totally taken aback by the bilingual signs. One asked "What language is that?"
    "Welsh"
    "But who speaks it?"
    "The Welsh"

Although there's a growing tendency to supply two names for every place, there's no pressure in Scotland whatsoever to speak or learn Gaelic.

Mind you if Israel can regenerate Hebrew, there's no reason why other countries can't revive languages as well.

Today I have been Mrs Spirit for 30 years.

Beloved husband bought me a pearl bracelet, I gave him a card. Oops.

Lunch overlooking a little harbour and off for dinner now.

    I feel very lucky.

I'm sure that he feels lucky, too. And he'd look daft in a pearl bracelet.

I'm not sure you can combine those offers and still get cash back? Worth a try though!

I've recently booked all my Hotels going through Topcashback, using Lastminute and Accor. I've managed to get nearly £400 for a three week stay in Australia. That'll pay for a few beers!
