That was the milk. Weetabix is probably more like 40 years. I used to have it as a child, but I'd suddenly fall out of love with it when one day, randomly, the suggy wheat would gross me out and I'd stop eating it.PN, you haven't bought weetabix for 25 years?
I gave up milk years ago when I found that I'd buy a pint of milk and it'd go off before I'd used it ... so I was forever either having manky/smelly milk, or no milk. So I stopped using.buying it and went to black coffee.0 -
I'll PM it.
Hey PN what is your FB page called as I can like it.
I have a "flat" sounding "voice" - but for all that online stuff like FB you have to be the annoying kind of chirpy and fluffy because nobody will follow/like you otherwise.
Did a slightly meany thing last week and de friended someone.
Their continual posting of their wonderful life was really annoying me...and I feel shallow for saying that too....but it is soooo irritating. Especially as I know that it is far from the perfect picture she paints to all her new found FB mates.
Trouble is, I can't do it.
I post is as upbeat a way as possible, but can't use those words like: adore, fabulous, gorgeous - and all that other fluffy stuff.
I'm more of a: "Here it is, take it or leave it" type, which isn't a brand builder

I think the type of people who go into the library to access facebook, as opposed to access it on their smart phone or at home is very different from the average user.
Quite possibly. I'm one of those annoying people who doesnt really want a large network of acquaintances and I don't care if people know what's going on in my life. For close friends and family I have other tools. I'm not anti social networking, I'm just not interested in arguably the biggest tool in the armoury. Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? I'm playing catch up this am as went to bed with an allergy yesterday and not sure whether I answered or not. The long and short was I bought materials in USA. Fibreglass touchscreen on a roll at $9 per roll ish can do my whole house with three rolls. Plastic click frames you click together. Not bad if a bit flimsy. Couldn't get lots of those in my suitcase so not in all Windows yet. Cut flyscreen to size and can still be fitted to window frame after, so some done with Velcro for now. Still looks ok though. Apologies, tablet has corrected flyscreen to touchscreen so this may read weird but it's a faff to correct on this.lemonjelly wrote: »Completely agree with Viva on this. Plus, I also feel it should be up to me who I tell what's going on, not for every random yoo-ha to read all about it....
Yay a kindred spirit!lemonjelly wrote: »TK maxx is ok, but if you go there, make sure you have the time to have a good thorough browse. IMO you have to have a good hunt & rummage to find the something that is right & suitable for you.
I love T K Maxx. I always use one of their big red trolleys when doing a serious shop. I don't think it is as good as in the olden days though when they had fewer stores. There's a lot of tat filler these days. Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? Ah, I expected a link to some UK website with photos and prices, or something.vivatifosi wrote: »The long and short was I bought materials in USA. With all that effort.... you could start a new business. People clearly want them.... if "even I" have them on a wish list then that proves the product has a 99% market reach potential
Sounds like my net curtain and velcro idea will be my route

I have the cash available - no finance needed.
Budget is not set in stone - if the car is good value, then I'll consider it. That said ideally I don't fancy going above £15k, & would prefer closer to £10k.
I definitely don't want a car older than 5 years, & ideally about 3 years old (or less).
I have a trusted mechanic who can come with me to inspect potential vehicles.
So folks, what tips do you have for forging ahead with a car purchase, including me getting rid of my now 12 year old vehicle only worth about £500?
All tips/ideas greatly appreciated!
Noooooooooo..... one of my rels has just sold a lovely Eos and had a bit of trouble doing so. If only the timing was better! You would have got a great deal.
Alternatives... get a pre reg. You save money and pretty much get a new car. We do this whenever DH gets a new car.
Another is that there is a car auction in Bedford where Volkswagen Audi sells off cars, could be worth looking for an Eos there. My brother has used it a couple of times as they sell ex fleet vans cheap too. Not bad, but it has good weeks and bad ones.
I'm in market for new car too. Have been looking at dealers but second hand not price differentiated enough from new. Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? There are a couple of uk sites, such as the flyscreen queen, but offering not as good as what you can get in the USA or Australia. I think this shows that not all stores are created equal. I've never seen a trolley in a TK Maxx!vivatifosi wrote: »I always use one of their big red trolleys when doing a serious shop. One thing that's often annoyed me about onlne websites with store locators is that many people will be choosing which branch to go to. If you've two branches available, each 20-50 miles away in opposite directions, I always wish the store locator pages would give you the sales floor size, so you can choose the biggest store if you want, say.
This is especially true for supermarkets when you might be staring at the map and choosing, unaware that one branch is the smallest in the UK and the other one is a superstore.0 -

It's looking like new LL is trying to up our rent by 50% due to 'the increased value of our space''.....errr, don't think so. Anyway, been there, done that, he has our offer per sq ft for a new lease and service charge and if it's no good will be offski..[/QUOTE]
That's annoying having gone through same with your shop. They could be palming you off, or want the space for resi, have you got a good view on what similar space is going for locally?PasturesNew wrote: »I think this shows that not all stores are created equal. Has access to shops improved a lot since you moved? You probably have better store access than me now, given you have a major town nearby. Biggest town in Herts is Hemel Hempstead, definitely not recommended as a shopping destination. Watford probably only decent shopping town here, with a few quirky shops in expensive little towns. Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing?
