Is it Next sale morning michaels? If so, mrsmichaels was probably going toe to toe with members of the tifosi family. Degrees of separation and all that...

Especially if it was in the children's clothes department.

    I'll PM it.

I have a "flat" sounding "voice" - but for all that online stuff like FB you have to be the annoying kind of chirpy and fluffy because nobody will follow/like you otherwise.

Trouble is, I can't do it.

I post is as upbeat a way as possible, but can't use those words like: adore, fabulous, gorgeous - and all that other fluffy stuff.

I'm more of a: "Here it is, take it or leave it" type, which isn't a brand builder :)

Can you PM it to me too?

Mine tends to be the more informative tone with the occasional loss of sense....
We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.

Noooooooooo..... one of my rels has just sold a lovely Eos and had a bit of trouble doing so. If only the timing was better! You would have got a great deal.

Alternatives... get a pre reg. You save money and pretty much get a new car. We do this whenever DH gets a new car.

Another is that there is a car auction in Bedford where Volkswagen Audi sells off cars, could be worth looking for an Eos there. My brother has used it a couple of times as they sell ex fleet vans cheap too. Not bad, but it has good weeks and bad ones.

I'm in market for new car too. Have been looking at dealers but second hand not price differentiated enough from new.

I know the auction you mean. That'd be a convenient one for many NPs I suppose. A mate who lived there found it was a good area to sell cars that he bought elsewhere as the second hand market got high prices. It had one of the first free local papers in the country back in the early 80s so it was easy to circulate ads as well.

I've sold at an auction (in S London) but that was simply to get it off my hands rather than to make any money. I found London driving ghastly and only got back into it after several years.
Since thenj we've always sold to family, frieinds or workmates for webuyanycar/trade-in prices. Gets it off your hands, they get a good deal, it's running instead of being scrapped.

I've got relatives in Northern Ireland. Wonder if the car market is quite so seasonal there as they don't have year plates like in GB.

We have two different car auctioneers in tiny town with train station here. I wonder how prices compare with south east?

That's a bit weird. I always thought you needed a certain critical mass in a town before a thing like that became viable. I wonder how they can coexist.

Do they run at the same time or stagger the auctions so people can go to both? Are they timed to suit visitors by train from any big cities?

I don't know, I'll look into it later if ots of interest. Its a logistics sort of place, not a living sort of place. The industrial acreage is massive, and merges with the next town really.

You often see car transporters about, and there are a few lorry companies and car breakers locally too.

If we knew a mechanic we'd definitely buy a car that way.

It's making more sense the way you describe it.

When I lived in the South Midlands there were farmers fields full of new cars waiting to be sent to showrooms, basically as there was so much more cheap space you could store things in, compared with the London area.

I was studying in a village that had its own university which had its own rocket test bed, observatory, and which had its own airport, which had its own fire brigade , and a slick uber-expensive fleet of modern vehicles due to be shipped to the Shah of Iran but got kept as he was deposed. The village also had a Morgan dealership (and two other car dealerships) and an annual jazz festival at the universitys main hall of residence which doubled as the airport hotel. And a population of less than 5000.

I've no grounds for calling the village with two auctions weird!:D

That's annoying having gone through same with your shop. They could be palming you off, or want the space for resi, have you got a good view on what similar space is going for locally?
    .

We seriously considered a freehold before deciding to buy Margate house but the business rates liability really put us off plus we would have had to have had a comm mortgage and I don't want that commitment as it's too inflexible and puts too much pressure on us .....I want to step off the treadmill in 5 years time.....or when this look has run it's course.
Currently we are at a very profitable part of the cycle and are 'rinsing' it for all it's 'worth'.
The handiest thing is I have stocked niche brands for many years in the past and used to see the fashion cycle that they go through...it's like a journey through the fashion food-chain.:)

There isn't really anything that suitable and the actual LL (a gold plated pension fund) isn't asking for an unrealistic per sq ft amount.

It's the leeches that are the managing agents...and I will name and shame.

Capita want to up the service charge from a capped 2k pa (we had it written in on the advice of our solicitor as he knows what they are like as his wife deals in Commercial) to 8k pa.
We get no more services now than we have had for the past 3 years but they look up your accounts and go 'mmmm..they can afford more so lets push it.

Our offer is in and I under-offered to give us wiggle room and the surveyor is also in agreement about the inflated service charges and the LL is, apparently, challenging them on it as they are really affecting the rents they get on any space on the estate.

A real PITA is the electricity as the building had been vacant for years (except the ground floor) and we were meant to get our own meter when we moved in....and 3 years later it has only just been fitted. Meanwhile they send us assessed bills which vary from £1500 for 1 month to £4000 for a quarter.

Obviously the figures are just made up and we have asked many times for a copy of the buildings electricity bill. They refuse to send us it.

The 5 th floor is now let and he has had the same so we are disputing it together.
Fortunately the LL also agrees that the elec charge is ridiculous.

Same old story really...the fatcats feed off the workers below them.
