With some people its ok to talk through it. With some one who has used clearly controlling behaviours I beg you to use some self preservation.
Can you say 'we'll, if I were you I'd put the heating on, or at least make a hot water bottle, but its your choice. So, what about that shooting in Washington huh...' Or what ever.
Maybe, some great counselling might help your mother? Is their good social life through religious community after the move? Do you think she'll fit in?
I said that my heating was on and I didn't understand that she was cold but not turning the heating on.
She is home, but I'm not sure that the counselling is in place. Maybe the happy pills will be enough.
We are considering all aspects with the move. The problem is getting her here to look at properties. She is understandably worried that she will aggravate her back in travelling up here. Everything I have showed her online has not been perfect. And of course she only wants perfect. and her requirements are contradictory.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. My facebook feed is full of spam...any nice people feeling guilty?
I have been wondering whether I should have a second facebook page just for spam/ MSE offers/ deals etcI'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. My guess is the talking would help her feel......listened to. Which is partly what she's acting out that she doesn't feel. And it might help her out look more than the pills. It might even help with things like realistic property selection, who knows.
Anyway, take care.0 -

She really needs to move down to where you are first maybe. Get a local rental then look once she's in the area.0 -

Its a such a good idea....
And after all, its not as if she's 'old' and cannot handle it
The other thing is that if she made friends with a particular group of women (presumably through jewish community) who live mainly in one area and she's just a little out of that area based on her list as an 'outsider' she might feel sad.
She's very lucky to have you silvercar..

My facebook feed is full of spam...
Do you "like" lots of stuff? I refuse to "like" almost anything on FB, and I wonder if that's why I haven't got much spam so far.Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Point them to https://www.AtaLoss.org which does for bereavement support what MSE does for financial services, providing links to support organisations relevant to the circumstances of the loss & the local area. Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.0 -

It was a little bit of an in joke for PN, the only annoying thing I have is 'buy and sell in Herts', seems if I want to be in the group I get the feed? I got told off today by one of the Spanish students for not posting photos of my whole life on it, I said i was a bit old for that sort of thing...in fact I only really use it for chat and keeping up with DW relatives as for some reason she is too private to have her own account so uses mine.I think....0 -

FB now have a 'Boost' system for business pages / ads so you pay a fee for so many spams. I think it works that the more you pay the more 'selected, target' feeds it will go into.
Your age and any personal details you have input into your profile will determine what spams go into your feed.
We don't use our business FB page as much now as we post new products and they don't show up on every persons page who 'liked' us...just some....unless we pay to boost.
Instagram will probably go the same way at some point but it's far better for our type of biz to use that. I think we are 19k instagram followers after only 6 months whereas FB is only about 3 or 4 k. Twitter is quite effective for promos.
If we do an offer on Instagram, sales soar.
The ads I get to the right are online bingo, belly fat and wrinkle treatments.0 -
I don't think I have any of you on my Facebook.....
Edit - Apart from FC's company....We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.0
