It'd be harder if they owned the land, or if there were some joint ownership.
You've got all the winning cards.
Don't have any cards yet
My solicitor had proposed completion/ exchange for next week a couple of weeks ago, just heard that isn't going to happen (solicitor said they had bad news, when they said it was just that the vendors want to visit the house again before completion so can't complete next week she laughed at how relieved I was they weren't pulling out!). Have sent over a 10% deposit to sols though in hopefulness that we can at least exchange soon...
That strip of land is on a separate deed, but its also being sold by my vendors. Next door need to drive across it to get to their garage which is directly behind their house.0 -
Hope you have a lovely weekend too, fc. Think of it as an internet-free retreat for a few days
I was actually a bit stressed about it for the 1st time as usually doesn't bother me too much a few days without.
I am a bit addicted to browsing nice new things for my nice new house at the moment (that I can't afford to buy) and it's a bit of a compulsion...one that needs to be broken.0 -
hope everyone has a lovely weekend. i am working tomorrow morning (the only nice bit of the weekend apparently!) and dependent on weather will be attempting some big knit hats as i have lots of scrap wool.0

I feel cheated!
Fancied fish and chips for tea so went to my usual chippy. I usually go for the 300 cals fish combo as the portion sizes are about right. Couldn't see it on the menu so asked if they still did it. Yes, it's called the 400 cals meal now. Super, I think, perhaps a few more chips.
Anyway, I get it home and can't believe my eyes. Usually the mushy peas come in their own little carton, which is separate from the fish / chip tray. Not this time. It was inside the (small) tray, at the expense of the chips.
I had 12 chips. Yes, TWELVE chips. Didn't take long to count them.
There were probably about 25% of the usual amount of chips, for the same price. If they'd explained the changes then I could have made an informed choice but they implied it was actually a bigger meal.
I really do feel cheated. And still hungry.
I'll go in to let them know my feelings when I'm next passing, and will try out the other chippy locally to see if they're better.0 -
:rotfl: True, I just had a real craving for lots of squishy, vinegary, chips. I'd only had a cheese sandwich all day!
And had to have two slices of chocolate cake with a bit of custard by way of consolation!0 -
Aha....I have connection with BT Openzone....2 little bars only but enough to keep online if I look for a few bits and bobs
Recording CBB final so will watch it later with no ads..yay (!)0 -

I'd have wanted to go back to the shop and smear the whole lot across their front window, while giving them the bird with my spare hand/finger.0 -

Sounds like the kind of place where you could ask for a "scampo and chip" and if they say what just ask if those words have plurals!;)There is no honour to be had in not knowing a thing that can be known - Danny Baker0
