Well, odd day, prepared to be exhausted ......long day, and yet feel really ok.....had bursts of energy right till now, would stay up longer if DH the usually indefatigable was not flagging! .

Tidied upstairs tonight. Instead of a mad scrabble in the morning I can leisurely get ahead at the supermarket, and with some cooking and a couple of errands I thought I'd have to do next week....

This morning its all quite grim and about how little I can do, this evening its a if I'm fighting back to show 'em how much I can, lol.

My mum said pretty much the same. She makes a lot of her own health food and thought they were nice but not overwhelming.

My favourite snack is a little bowl of this stuff:

    Pref mango macadamia

They look tasty. I'd definitely eat those. Where do you buy them? Waitrose?

Wheezy, good to see you back!

My own dog (v similar to yours) has been through the wars and he's just had an op which was almost as painful as the bill.

Have you got yours insured yet? (that's probably a yes but if not I'll pass on our current company).

DG glad you liked the song. It feels like there's tons in it!

Pastures? NDG (sometime after the weekend probably!)

Any opinion on feasibility of a repair?

    Can you tell?

It's all down to what that metal is. If, say, it's copper, it'd be straight forward to fix as the two parts can just be soldered together.

Issues are: what's that glass stuff - glass stuff is the last thing you put in as it might break if you get heat near it. There are some products that allegedly shield glass bits etc from heat of a blowtorch.... but that's a matter of experience.

It'd really need to be pawed by somebody who has the equipment/experience and who has it in their hand to be able to ascertain the metal and glass bits.

I'd say that most repairers might consider it too hard/unreliable and couldn't guarantee the glass bits. Of course, depending how the glass bits are fitted in they might be extracted.

So, it's potentially straight forward, for somebody with equipment/experience who explains the risks to you and is prepared to undertake the work given the risks.

If it's not at all precious, you might just try mending it yourself with Fimo.

Or even just black thread to hold the two pieces together. I couldn't quite see from the photo, but it looks like there are two interlocking rings that hold it together. One of those has broken, but there still seems to be enough left to wrap some thread round to make a new loop.

What it will look like at the end of that repair? Well that's another matter, but at least the thread can be removed easily, so you are back to square one.
No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?
  • It feels both sad and liberating. I have abother picture of earrings to ask pn and NDG about,a metal ring on them broke. Only accessorise, but I like them, are any of those glue weld kits ay good for example...any way will get pic....actually why dither will go and take pic now.

Seen the pic - easy to mend. Doesn't need welding, just a jump ring. i think - hard to tell from just a photo, though. post them to me?
Sorry to keep you all waiting on the meggings issue, I know your lives have been on hold.

I don't wear meggings. I do wear thermal leggings when skiing or running in the winter if it is really cold, but only under salopettes / shorts as appropriate. I would only consider wearing meggings as a fashion item if codpieces were back in.

Sounds perfectly sensible to me - Oh is the same.

I'm enjoying this shopping and clearing out business.

    Tea break.

Probably won't be around much this weekend, doesn't mean I have met misadventure, so no body panic. :D
