Had a lasagne with home grown onions.
First time I've successfully grown onions.
My goodness! The potency! Spent most of the evening with itchy eyes (& I didn't even have to prepare the food!).
Looking forward to next week. The 12 hour days will cease for me, & after a week or 2 of catching up with sleep, I'll be back to normal (whatever that is?)It's getting harder & harder to keep the government in the manner to which they have become accustomed.0 -
On a completely unrelated note, this year is 125 years since the Autumn of Terror/Jack the Ripper killings. On the 100 years anniversary, there was loads of new books, theories etc.
This year seems to be a bit of a whimper in comparison. It's getting harder & harder to keep the government in the manner to which they have become accustomed.0 -
From the photo it looks to me like the jump ring is still attached to the bottom half of the earring, so it's the loop on the top 'gem' that has broken...
LIR - the bottom, rectangular 'gem' - is it grey in colour? And the was/ is the metal silvery (I do find that Accessorize stuff has a tendancy to tarnish quite quickly) If so, I have the very same Accessorize earrings
No, dark green and sort of ...browny metal. But I would have liked in grey too.. Didn't see them!

There is not a live mussel to be found in my area.
When asked I'm told its because they are too small. I point out maybe its because they were selling them all through the summer when they were out of bloody season.
Now they are IN season, we want kilos of them and there are none. Hasty re plan of menus because of stupid unseasonal eaters.0 -

Considering we live on an island, that's quite disturbing.0 -
Exchanged contracts today having negotiated a price reduction following planning rejection. Will rent it out whilst persuing different planning options and hope that being long housing makes money all on its own....
Congratulations - on both the exchange and the renegotiation.
I wish I had exchanged, seems to be going soooo slooooowly for no particular reason.
So slowly my reservations about a shared driveway are creeping up (I would own the land, but there is right of way for next door). But there is absolutely nothing even vaguely tempting coming onto the market, and most of the houses in the area don't have any off street parking at all, so its still a bonus.
Still really like the house though, and its good value for the area with the potential to be really lovely once done up.
Just want to get dates sorted out so I know what I'm doing and how longer I have to cope with housesharing0 -

Dark green and browny metal sound lovely. I wish I'd seen those instead!0 -

It'd be harder if they owned the land, or if there were some joint ownership.
You've got all the winning cards.0 -
Hi Wheezy + Dooz...:)
I will be AWOL for a few days as my master MSE plan of trying to sort out cheaper broadband has backfired. The Talk Talk was much cheaper but a totally rubbish connection. Kept tripping out, couldn't watch iplayer and so on............and then I got a 'get-out' as I could cancel the contract if I was unhappy with the new price increases.
So, went back to BT after only 3 weeks and the new hub delivered yesterday doesn't work as it is faulty. And I paid extra for the 'better' one.
Going to be 3 working days to get a new one counting from today and our phones hardly work at home at all...just a few scraps of O2 signal now and again.:(
Think I'll start my new book tomo.....it's that JK Rowling one written under a different name. Called Cuckoos Calling I think.
Hope everyone has a lovely W/E.0
