Awww - did I miss this being mentioned? I definitely would have come along :(
Don't suppose it matters so much now if it's being cancelled.

Couldn't you use one of your uber-cars instead?

Its largely a classic car event, with a few car dealers, so unfortunately not.

OH has said she's categorically not going, however looking at the weather forecast, I could possibly get away with 11-3. I don't know what to do!

Today I made a few preliminary calls abut LPG and oil tanks at the Wreckstoration.

No one apart from the architect greeted this with any enthusiasm whatsoever. :(.

But, I think I needed the shove from michaels. Sometimes you just have to call it a day. But now I am watching that blackout thing on channel four and remembering what the dream was and how bloody far from it we feel ATM.

But at least all you are doing is substituting temporary oil or LPG for temporary wood pellets. The final plan of GSHP still stands, doesn't it?

Me too... Did I know in the first place?

(Goes off to look for confused smiley, nothing new there...)

    Please PM me michaels.

I'm not aware of anyone that michaels and I both know, apart from people like lir whom we've met on here. My memory, as DD points out, is like a sieve. Please PM me too, michaels. Thanks.

Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.

Ah! Nikkster is buying! Very cool :)

    And congratulations, michaels!

We decided to go ice skating last night. The kids loved it. DD is only eight but was out there by herself, didn't want a hand to hold at any point. DS skates fast but with limbs flailing, which was hilarious as he was wearing neon gloves under UV light. I'm so glad that they were both happy to fall over and get straight back up again. Both have blisters which will feel more painful today without the exhiliration.

Doozer boy was not that happy as he was the only bald person. Also, not that happy to fall over and get up again - related to the 'bald' thing.

I didn't fall, but I've developed a method of skating that doesn't involve lifting my feet off the ice at all. Too scared!

Kids still asleep this morning :D

DG did you go clockwise or anticlockwise when you went on the ice, may I ask?
    Anticlockwise.

I'd like to meet up with you too, very much GDb . :).

I'll let you know when I have a date see if it looks possible.

Email me when it's happening (if GDB doesn't mind) and I'll see if I can come along.
I have a boiler case update but cannot give it here yet. Wish I could whisper here..........

Oooh. Looking forward to hearing something.

I had 12 chips. Yes, TWELVE chips. Didn't take long to count them.

Our local chippy's idea of "small chips" is about right to feed DD and me between us. (DS is not fond of chips.) You should come here and try them out!

I can't hold in my urge to buy things in preparation for having a house any longer.

    Today I've bought:
Collins DIY manual as recommended on the NPT (£5 back on books from Amazon via TopCashBack - see Grabbits board)
A carpet washer - was thinking of getting someone in to clean carpets, but this will hopefully be more MSE as will be able to use/ lend to family, friends etc (or even sell on ebay) in the future.

Ooh - I didn't realise there were other NP with classic cars, I thought we tended to be more practical than that :rotfl:
Have fun, whoever ends up going :)

I'm not entirely sure why you're asking, but anticlockwise?!

The new Ikea catalogue is just out. That's free.

We're moving things around. Little bedroom is becoming office/dog bedroom. The room downstairs that was open plan and is no longer, is going to become a larger bedroom for my poor 6'3" cousin who has been sleeping in what looks like a cot for the last year. :rotfl:

Bowling tonight. I will be no good as I have a bad back but I will prop up the bar. This is more excitement than I can bear, two nights in a row!

I dont think there are, but there are several dealers there, and it's generally enjoyable :)

If anyone is going, and wants free parking (at the event is free, but you'll struggle to get out) about 5 minutes away, please let me know!
