    I've been Money Tipped!
Wreckstoration was bestowed upon me by someone, I'm happy to share.

Weekend is beset by minor ailments. Few of them mine for once thank god!

Anyway, give me time to recover a bit. :)

Quality at IKEA is definitely linked to price. We have bought a lot of bedroom furniture recently for the other place. The expensive bedroom cupboards are very good quality and feel very solid, the sliding doors glide smoothly. The cheaper cupboards shake when you slam a door and feel rickety.

Hope you enjoy Makers. I want to hear all about it.

On a different note, a good friend of mine (MA in fine art) is doing a print making course. I'm going to suggest she goes into wallpaper production just in time for your move...

    I LOVE wallpaper!

I can't be having with wallpaper, carpets or Ikea...there now i said it. I'd still be on for the meet up but I don't suppose anyone will tell me when/where it is going to be now.
    I think....
  • Looked at a nice house today. Detached, really nice garden, has been rented out for a few years so inside is basic but liveable, house is 50s construction so it isn't falling down yet. Problems: close enough to the a3 to be able to hear the traffic (in the garden not in the house), price a bit toppy, and 18 minutes walk to the station which is the biggest problem.

Our friends who were buying in the same area just had their purchase fall through. Survey said house needed £150,000 of work!!

Walking is good for you? What would the door to door be?

150K? I have been told to insure our 4 bed detached for 250k for buildings = demolition, site clearance and rebuild so 150k sounds like an awful lot of work (or a very big house).
    I think....
  • Would make the door to door about an hour and ten minutes I think, I don't mind walking but the problem comes when it is bucketing it with rain and you have to walk through it for 20 minutes and you can't get the bus instead, because there isn't one.

Yeah £150k is a lot. I think it needed a new roof (roof has been leaking for a while), rewiring, new central heating, damp penetration in multiple places, rot etc. It was basically a complete disaster - no point negotiating in that situation.

Is it anywhere near the big white tower you can see from the A3? I think you posted a link to that once.

    :D
Also as I grew up on a major trunk road I find I need the sound of traffic to soothe me to sleep.
