Although, technically speaking, I think it is Doctors of Philosophy who are supposed to have more of a right to call themselves 'Dr.' I think.

Should I get that far, I will be changing my correspondence to say Dr. I won't care if it makes me an idiot, I'll be making the most of it :D. If I post things to any of my Dr. friends, I usually address the envelope to 'Dr' - they've worked flipping hard for it!

It would also let me drop the 'Miss.' :)

Has your submission been acknowledged? Will it be assessed?
    I think....

LIR it is great to see you so full of energy, are you on different meds at the moment or perhaps it is the extra power you are getting from your internal ion generator....

However I would like to stop having metion made of how nice it is outside and preferably move to a basement office as sitting here at work looking at the sunlight on the trees and lake in the park is almost more than I can bear :(

Agree with the first bit - great to hear you're feeling good lir. Just make sure you don't over do it and pay for it later...

Regarding the sunshine: I'm officially on holiday for a week now. And unlike the holiday days I've been taking, I won't be in the office sat in front of a computer. Oh no, I'll be in the sun (drinking lots of water of course), which hopefully will remain out over the IoW (night time excepted ;)) until Monday :D

so, another one of my i really should know better questions. i didn't go training last week and signed up for this week (tomorrow) but have SMALL cold (I always get a subsequent bacterial infection). debating whether to go and sweat the bugs out or wimp

Last time I decided to sweat the bugs out I fainted twice in the gym showers, smashed my face off the shower controls and ended up with several stitches in two facial wounds and sat in a&e for about seven hours. I was lucky I didn't lose any teeth.

I did get a couple of days off work though so depends on how much you value your time off.

    Have a wonderful week off!

Its meant to be good weather too.

I did perhaps fail to pace myself a little today. Still feel comparatively good, just tired. :D

Dunno. Submission deadline is end of the month, this was sending a 'final draft' to supervisor.

Got a nice email back :) but not sure whether the end of the month deadline has been remembered (I have reminded...).

I'll be a little disappointed if it's a 'no', but I feel like I've 'made peace' with it, so anything else would be a bonus. And to be honest the thought of a viva is horrifying.

I'll let you all know as and when, so would prefer if you don't ask (i.e. if you don't hear anything it's a no!) :)

Typical..... it's got dark, I flcked the light on - nothing. It was working last night, not tonight. There's a ladder in the shed, but I've no idea where the key's kept. Top tip - don't do housesitting....

Do you have a mobile phone you could use as a torch (light from its screen?)

    No.
I have the telly on and a laptop... but it's pitch dark here; no nightlight/moonlight etc like in towns. I'm at the edge ..... of civilisation.
