There are complicated rules about names, however.

All very interesting. Thanks for explaining. It all makes perfect sense the way you put it. :)
My Chambers, and OH's as well, are "modern", and so everyone except the Heads of our Chambers are called by their first names by all but the most junior of the clerks, in private - but any hint of a solicitor or lay client within earshot and they revert instantly to "Miss NDG"...

This usually (but not absolutely consistently) happens in teaching too, when addressing a fellow teacher in front of students or parents.
Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Point them to https://www.AtaLoss.org which does for bereavement support what MSE does for financial services, providing links to support organisations relevant to the circumstances of the loss & the local area. (Link permitted by forum team)
Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.
    :)

Lydia, you should have post today in fact, having played postman and seen what NDG was sending I decided to insure it in the post instead of just send it!

Oooh exciting. I am just about to get into the shower. I hope it doesn't come while I'm in there!

Run down in your towel in it does :D

I had a merry dance this morning trying to buy huge tubs of smooth white masonry paint. Almost every where seems to have sold out, I have resorted to (shudder) magnolia. I know its being painted over but even buying it hurt a little.

I actually wanted yellow too, but no chance of that.

I can only think with the dry summer everyone is painting their exteriors this year!

When I had a house I painted it white.... turned out to be a bad decision. It looked grubby from air-borne exhaust fumes after 1-2 years. Painted it magnolia second time - much better, it looked a lot smarter and held its colour for the rest of the time (5+ years) that I was there. Magnolia walls, white windowsills.

The automatic footer from my work emails. It's a total waste of electrons, as far as I can see, especially as nobody takes a blind bit of notice of them, anyway.

Ours is just the undercoat, mainly. I will probably leave some white showing this year. Where we have to use magnolia I will feel I do not want to leave showing this year.

Places like inside the field shelter barn would be best pained a very dark colour practically, for dirt showing, but i like the idea of a light colour to show things like where hay nets have fallen down (shouldn't happen but does) and to enable rapid head counts :D. So get a bright undercoat this year,. And after one year of novelty of bright will almost certainly be painted more traditional dark colour rapidly!

Traditionally actually, you pain lower half of walls a dark colour and upper half a bright colour. (Usually black and white....cheap and easy) I am just painting everything that great/blue/grey ATM. But I am thinking of yellow for my stable bright colour. I wanted my dark colour to be aubergine but the architect looked like he might cry. So I am holding that back for a few years.

Actually the grey/green/blue looks good in some lights. In other lights in just looks teal or peacock.

    Still feeling good!

Have now cut all the house grass this morning on the mobility lawn mower. Should be cleaning down stairs but the day is so nice I don't want to. Having cup of tea then wondering what I should do that will keep me ticking over :)
