Danger point is if she convinces the doctors that she should go home and tells us she can't be left alone.
At the moment I am angry that she feels we think so little of her that her going would be helpful to us. It is also upsetting that Dad put up such a fight to stay alive and she wants to throw in the towel.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. S'ok. Bet she's still feeding into the national grid
Started at 5am this morning, it's now 10pm. Probably made £10 if I'm lucky .... but it's £10 more than I'd have had if I had done nothing.0 -

I think polygamy frequently arises in the type of societies were wives are, in general, supposed to shut up and do what they're told. Not always, but mostly, I reckon?
I think Oscar Wilde said something like "Bigamy is having one wife too many. Monogamy is the same".
I was surprised by that. i'd always assumed most NPs had met each other long ago and I was the one playing "catch up".
As regards polygamy, I was reading about causes of death in the Faro tribe in New Guinea (they had a BSE-type disease called kuru). The causes of death in men were- Man A killed by Man B because he wanted to marry Man A's wife. Man B killed by Man C (man A's brother) as revenge for killing man A. You can guess how this goes on and how a man shortage can develop in a stone-age society.
I read that the non-natural death rate in stone-age societies vastly outnumbers that of modern societies (proportionally of course). And that included the facts that modern societies commit to world wars, carry out genocides, and atom-bomb cities. There is no honour to be had in not knowing a thing that can be known - Danny Baker0 -

We order our logs from a local family. When we first moved here old Mr M did the delivery accompanied by the 'the lad'. The lad was in his 40's then. Mr M's wife took the order. Weeks would pass from when the order was placed in August and delivered October.
Mr M has been dead for a number of years, 'the lad' and his son now do the deliveries, the lead time for the deliveries is still the same.
Until today.
We ordered logs last weekend..you have to call at the house and stand on the doorstep and shout at Mrs M as she is very old and very deaf.
OH wants to build a wood shed before the logs come in October.
Phone call tonight and an elderly voice shouted down the phone that our logs will be delivered before 10am tomorrow. No chance to decline as she cannot hear anything, she is oblivious to our plan for a log store.
So tomorrow we have to shift and stack 1.5-2 tons of logs.
Then move and restack them when the log store is built.:(0 -

I guess that's why thou shalt no covet another man's wife and thou shalt not commit adultery are 2 of the commandments. And why society operates around 'laws' to try and keep that kind of thing in check...0 -
Are any NP available in London on the evening of 6/9?
I am staying in St James area and will leave OH to enjoy a dinner at the hotel whilst I am available to go out on the razzle/intellectual pursuits.0
