I guess that's why thou shalt no covet another man's wife and thou shalt not commit adultery are 2 of the commandments. And why society operates around 'laws' to try and keep that kind of thing in check...
It's all about being civilised, meaning you're clever enough so you can follow rules so you can live close to other people in a civic situation. Being polite meaning you know the rules to live in the polis and urbane people living in the urban situation without starting fights.
Crime stats seem to show loads of people want the benefits of living in the urbs/cives/polis/city but think stone-age eye-for-an-eye rules are all they need. Till they're in the pokey. Actualy now I recall a big chunk of my masters was studying how mostly violent crime is about applying stone-age thinking and decision-making to modern situations. There is no honour to be had in not knowing a thing that can be known - Danny Baker0 -

I will follow your example and shut up too.PasturesNew wrote: »I even had to change her dinner orders in hospital as she wasn't choosing the right ones for what she likes. But it was her "choice" to choose her lunch from the list - so she ticked something...... and I'd check and pick the right one.
I had to pick meals for my mum for the following day in hospital when she was not expected to last the night and absolutely was not going to be conscious for days if she did. I tried explaining this, but the person just wouldn't go away until I ticked something.Danger point is if she convinces the doctors that she should go home and tells us she can't be left alone.
This is why you must make sure that they know what she is saying to you.At the moment I am angry that she feels we think so little of her that her going would be helpful to us. It is also upsetting that Dad put up such a fight to stay alive and she wants to throw in the towel.
Oh silvercar, it sounds awful. Your feelings sound entirely understandable and justifiable to me. Big hugs to you, and thoughts and prayers.Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.0 -

Oh Lydia, that sounds like a horrible thing to have to do, even though it is 'trivial', it must have made an upsetting time even worse.0 -

I just acted offered to get my tits out for the boys if they shut up.
While I take all flattery, your method worked so much better than mine. And you are equally capable of both, so your choice was also superior! Are any NP available in London on the evening of 6/9?
I am staying in St James area and will leave OH to enjoy a dinner at the hotel whilst I am available to go out on the razzle/intellectual pursuits.
Would love to any other time, but sadly we're away - OH finally booked something today for our holiday. We leave on Monday!
It sounds fantastic - fairly basic self-catering accommodation, but almost literally on the beach. It's essentially a beach hut with loo at the top of a beach, so yards from the sea.
I almost spat out my drink then.
I haven't had a shower since yesterday (morning), and am dressed in my finest slob clothes. I'm sure I have an air of something about me, but it's definitely not pulled together anythingness
I'm sure you look lovely, even in slob clothes. I, sadly for my sake, have two sisters like that, who can drag themselves out of bed, hungover, after a couple of hours' kip, pull sacks over their heads, and still look great....much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0 -

Thanks Nikkster. What a kind person you are! :A
It was a long time ago - Easter 2009. It was a minor irritant, but I didn't have space in my brain to get upset about it. I just ticked something to make her go away, and let it go.
She didn't die then. In fact she got quite a lot better for a while - progressed mentally to being able to hold a simple conversation and physically to being able to walk slowly up and down stairs with two rails - but then she inevitably deteriorated again. She didn't actually die until November 2011. DLB is a vile disease.Do you know anyone who's bereaved? In Georgia (and having had to go through this last year), it's much the same as this, however I do agree that it makes a difficult time worse. The hospital were brilliant at sorting my DD's out for food, too. Not sure if this would happen in the NHS, however there were things that had to be done, like an emergency change of will, that just seemed to make the entire process worse.
A quick NP update; one of my mothers colleagues suggested that I may be diabetic of some form or another (following on from the other day). This would actually make a lot of sense, as I don't eat that healthily.

At least I can hold my head up over this one. DH and I use supermarket own, we actually prefer it too I think. While one doesn't want waxed paper, or thin the slimy stuff with lotion or aloe Vera or whatever in its is not fun, and quilted stuff is heavy on old pipework.0 -

That sounds a real get away from it all place.
Can you say where if we promise not to gate crash?0
