Glad she's back home and has you to look after her.

Sending my best wishes, hope she makes a speedy recovery.

    Well she's back home (it's 6pm here).

It turns out that she has pneumonia. The "good news" is that it's only in one lung at the moment. It reminds me of the 'lucky' bloke that fell 10 floors or got hit by a bus and survived.

I've got the next 2 days off work to look after her. Work are being excellent about this actually, really very good. The only questions Mrs Boss had were connected to Mrs Generali's well being and to ensure I carry on being paid whilst off.

Thanks for all your kind thoughts. It helps.

Pneumonia sounds scary, but she is young and otherwise healthy its not 'that' bad. I've had I am and not otherwise healthy and I survived just fine. :D. Just make sure she rests and RELAXES properly.

Time for some good old fashioned spoiling her rotten.

And she will get better faster if she isn't doing horses and chickens :rotfl: Seriously, take care of her and then stay calm, she'll be fine but she doesn't need to worry that you are worrying;)

More kisses for you all xxxx

    Chicken soup is always good.

That is better news Gen, thanks for letting us know. Well done to Mrs Boss for the empathetic response. Who will look after your wife after the two days?

Observations on luck in such situations can be perverse. My experience was that post op the lady in the next bed was in her late 70s and told me how lucky I was to have had such surgery at a young age . I think she was thinking of rehab. As a CABG lasts about 15 years or so:( needing one in your early 40s is not usually seen as a good thing .

Thoughts and prayers for Gen and Mrs Gen from me too.
Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Point them to https://www.AtaLoss.org which does for bereavement support what MSE does for financial services, providing links to support organisations relevant to the circumstances of the loss & the local area. (Link permitted by forum team)
Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.

It's just been reduced to the single day for the Queen's Birthday.

The other 1.5 'privilege' days have been added onto annual leave allowances for existing staff, and new staff won't get them at all.

Hi Yorkie1, not sure if you have posted on the np thread before but just in case you haven't , welcome to the thread and please drop by any time you would like. We will be nice :-)

Sorry to hear about Mrs Generali Gen. My thoughts and prayers are with you and the family. It's really good news to hear that she's home and not been kept in hospital.

Mr G. Please let Mrs G know we ware thinking of her. I know she is not 100% better but hopefully it is a relief that the problem is one with such a good prognosis.

lIR is the snow white film suitable for the Michaels kids?

The trip bank from Dorset was ideal, we left while it was still light and got to see some great views as dusk caught us just leaving the new forest and the whole way the traffic was moderate but no hold ups so home just after 10. And then after being woken for their shower DKs next needed waking at 10 this morning.

They were spoiled rotten this weekend, we were with my aunt, my DSis and her kids were with my mum and they were playing 'grandma wars', laying on child friendly activities, taking photos and emailing them to each other.
    I think....

I have cleaned out the eglu and OH cleared/strimmed the chicken run brambles. We have both been bitten by horse flies and I am lightly sprinkled with red mites. Just going to have bath.

Eglu - I had imagined that you had a huge country-style hen house. I don't know why. I associate Eglus with Londoners keeping a couple of chickens in the back garden so as to tantalize the urban foxes, not with 'proper' country folk who have keep-you-dry-in-a-storm coats.

I'm sorry about the horse flies. They are no joke at all. :(
No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?
