If I'd known you were passing, you could have picked up and dropped off some chips for me.
Have a good evening out.... hope you took a torch as you've a tractor to get past when you return home later.0 -
Get well soon to Mrs Gen...I've had it too when James was a few months old and it was no joke at all.
Me and ex are amazingly, working on the same page for once. He has told James he will continue to pay pocket money whilst he is at university to help out, as I am also doing. It only equates to £15 a week between us but it is better than nothing at all and bearing in mind the food costs he has to bear (due to his exceptional need of a huge amount of calories just to stay the same weight), it is the least we can do.
Think ex hubby is rather over the moon at the boy's recent results, he told me what a good job I have done with them!
My initial reaction would be "what does he want?" But that is uncharitable, maybe he just wants to bask in his reflected glory or say "it's all in the genes."I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. Lovely day here now. Spent hours down on the plot hoiking out the weeds as well as the dead pea plants. Perfect soil for getting rid of all those pesky dandelions, after all that rain.
Picked about 15 courgettes ... some more marrow than regular size ... somebody please stop me from planting 4 plants next year! Even the neighbours don't want any more
Glad to hear something's working out PN0 -

Wish I was a neighbour. I am missing them so much and am buying them all the time. They seem to be something I can eat and love......may not growing them is the key to not being bored of them by August.
Would really love a stuffed marrow too. Not sure I could eat it, but would have a go!0 -
I've never had marrow. Don't like courgette .... my parents never grew or ate marrow, so never had it at home. It was never in school dinners ... and you don't get it down the chip shop.
So that's my culinary experiences covered as a marrow-less zone.0 -

If you don't like courgette you'd hate marrow. Even lots of people who like courgette hate marrow.
I only like marrow done in particular ways. We stuff it with morrocan or middle eastern sort of tastes ( actually, if I stuff a veg apart from a tomato its usually that sort of vibe...) and think of the marrow as a bland flavour absorber, something to soften flavours than punch, and go a little higher in taste vibrancy than I might with a less bland veg.
I also love the feeling that its so vibrant and healthy and fibre full and its done so little to get so big. It just feels healthy eating them.0 -

A question: are marrow and courgette the plant or just the same family? There was a bit of debate in the office on Friday, when someone was donated a rather over-sized courgette. (michaels would have been proud. There were a lot of raised eyebrows and hilarous comments).0 -
They are the same family although different varieties. Marrows need to grow to full size for a harder skin.
My 'marrows' are just oversized courgettes ... very oversized green ones!0 -
