  • Weekly weigh in - 2lb off :T

Nothing to report money wise, need to pop to Aldi at some point for a few bits but hopefully that should be it.
  • Grrr I'm kicking myself hard!!!! A few bits from aldi turned into a few more from Tesco (who happened to have reduced loads of their clothes!) and I've ended up spending far too much. Will need to play with the budget to make sure everything's ok.....

Got some items ending on eBay later - not gonna make much but hopefully will be enough to get my budget balancing again!

Pre ordered the new call of duty using the tesco offer on the grab it board. One Xmas pressie sorted and the extra £10 in points will certainly come in handy towards another.

Have also received a pre pad credit card from the RAC as a gesture of good will for a mix up in the letter they sent me. It's only £12.50 but its free money!

Gonna try and get through the next week spending as little as possible .....
  • Pay days looming. Due to be paid on Monday although I'm keeping my fingers crossed it'll be Friday with it being bank holiday. There's £16 in the joint account to see us through. Should be fine considering both cars have enough fuel, the cupboards and fridge freezer are pretty well stocked and all the bills are paid.

Posted the eBay parcels yesterday and once again I've put my self out of pocket by £2 on one of the items and that was after I'd refunded someone last week as I felt bad as the parcel came in at less than I'd quoted. Grrrr never mind gotta let it go lol!

Sorted the dog insurance yesterday. Managed to get better level of cover and £42 cashback for the same price as my renewal so very pleased with that. The cashback has already tracked and confirmed too although hopefully by the time it's payable I will be debt free! Currently have £192 in my cashback account - can't wait for it all to be payable! :)

Have transferred to £12.50 card from the RAC into an amazon gift card to put towards Christmas. Did try to use it to make a payment to the cc but it wouldn't let me

Hoping for a nice non eventful NSD :)
  • 2 more days to payday!!!! It can't come soon enough!

Yesterday didn't turn out to be a NSD after all as I forgot I needed to pick up dishwasher powder. Popped into sainburys and promptly got handed a leaflet for 25% off all the clothes! Nooooooo! I was pretty well behaved and only spent £11.75 on two tops and a cardigan, used my nectar points as well so it brought it down to £6.75, so not too bad all in all.

Swagged another £5gc for the Christmas fund, so that's adding up nicely. Not sure I've ever been this organised with regards to Christmas!

Right of to get showered, walk the woofs, feed the ponies and deliver myself safely to work.......
  • Yay was finally payday yesterday :j a little early because of the bank holiday so it's gonna make it a slightly longer month - must be good!

Weekly weigh in total is 0.5lb lost - not bad since I've had a lazy week (and a sneaky pizza  )

So I figured since its the start of a new financial month for us it'd be a good idea to total up the progress so far, so here it goes...........

    Overdraft was £560 now £23.15
Credit card was £3966 now £3389.23
    Weight 5.5lb loss

Gives the grand total reduction of £1113.62 :j

Been a good month mainly due to my expenses coming through so I know from now on its going to be slower progress. However, it's a good psychological boost for my first month refocused.

    So focus for this month......
    1. Keep food shopping under control and under budget
    2. Gym / exercise at least 3 times per week
    3. Declutter for eBay and/or car boot

Have a great bank holiday
  • Nothing terribly exciting to report. I spent bank holiday Monday sorting out my wardrobe. I now have one black bag full of clothes for eBay and two for the car boot. Hoping to pull a car boot in before the end of September whilst the weathers still reasonably decent, although at the minute I'm struggling for a free weekend.

Swagged another amazon GC yesterday to put towards Christmas pressies and £85 in my cashback account became payable :j

The £85 will also go for Christmas shopping. I'm going to a big designer outlet village in a couple of weeks (naughty I know) so am hoping to do some Christmas shopping there.

Need to update my spreadsheet and see how much we can throw at the cc this month. My cc statement month coincides with the calendar month if that makes sense. Therefore will make a payment once we're in September so it ticks off sept's minimum payment. Obviously hoping to pay a lot more than the minimum off but like to do it this way in case we have an unexpected expense, at least I know min payments been met.
  • Been AWOL for a little while as have been away. Nothing extravagant just a week by the sea but it was lovely! Need to get myself back on track though as although we watched the pennies whilst we were away it still going to make it a tight month. Weight has also rocketed  so need to get that sorted. Have put on the weight I'd managed to shift over the last 3 weeks - not good :(

    So jobs for today.......
    1. Check banking and update spreadsheet
    2. Submit meter readings and keep fingers crossed that payments won't rise.
    3. Submit expenses claim for work
    4. Hair cut as I'm looking like cousin it! Usually around £10, budgeted for.
    5. Get some piccies taken for eBay
    6. Sort holiday laundry - got a huge pile of clean washing from the hols to put away.

    Have a good day x

  • :hello: Hi HOK3Y thanks for dropping by!

Well need to give myself a kick up the !!!!! - of yesterday's things to do I managed the online banking and the haircut and that was only because it was pre booked lol! Got a late start at work this am so will get things sorted before I go. There's free listing on eBay today so am going to aim to put at least 6 items on later.

Weathers definitely turned here and it looks like I'm going to be walking the woofs in the dark from now on. Must dig out the trusty head torch.

I've spent a lot of time thinking my level of debts not too bad but it struck me yesterday all the things I could have used that £4.5k for....

    1. Both cars are 10 yrs + and getting increasingly costly to maintain, could have replaced at least one if not both.
    2. We'd love to extend one day - could have been a nice chunk towards that.
    3. Redecorating and bedroom furniture
    4. another horsie

All things that we need or are hoping to do in the nearish future (ok maybe need to talk the oh around regarding the hoss!) and that money could have gone a long way! Need this debt gone!!!!
  • Been a little more productive today lol! Laundry done, 9 items listed on eBay and meter readings submitted. We're now just over £100 in credit with the gas and electricity so I'm keeping fingers crossed this will help keep payments down over the winter months. Just need to submit my expenses claim tomorrow when I'm back in the office.
