Faulty training shoes : refuses to change because I used it

Please note the main issue at the moment is that the retailer is refusing to provide a receipt because he know that I could use it for a small claim.0

Jessica, Please clear something up.
1) Is the retailer denying they have your trainers?
2) In what context are they being abusive?
Police reference number means absolutely nothing. Just means that you have phoned them and they have recorded a brief description of what you call was about. I would also ignore the advice given in regards to this civil matter by the police operator. This would more then likely be small chat etc and is certainly not legal advice. I did this job for 4 years many moons ago and its amazing the utter pointless stuff people contact the police about.0 -
I do not know exactly who are in this forum but I will say it : I have recorded my chat with the retailer.
I believe, that a special delivery sent to them as confirmation that they are in possession of the trainers will be enough.
I went to the store : first day, they refused to take the shoes saying they were closed because there was flood but in fact the door was opened : they told me to come back the next day. Next day, the door was closed and they left a message saying that they will open from the next day.The next day, the retailer did not want me to totally enter into the shop and ask for the trainers : when I gave him the trainers I ask him a receipt with a description of the issue but he refused and start being aggressive and talking with a loudly voice. As a result, I have decided to wait for week knowing that I need to run at least 3 times a week (and since a month I cannot).0 -
Have you actually given them your trainers yet? Or are you not willing to as they won't provide a receipt?
the store could have been closed due to a flood just because the door was open doesn't mean they were trading. If the shop was closed the next day if seems more likely that it could have been true.
Unless you have a medical condition you do not NEED to run three times a week, you might want to but that is different to needing to.0 -

A pretty important question you failed to answer!1) Is the retailer denying they have your trainers?
What do you mean you have recorded your chat with the retailer? Web chat, phone chat, Face to face chat? What have they said which makes it note worthy?
Youve lost me with the rest of your story. What do you mean they refused to take the shoes on the first day? Earlier on you said you went to the shop, they wanted to send them off to be investigated and then you left the shop with your trainers?!
A shop can still be closed despite having its door open, especially if it has been flooded!
I can understand the shop not wanting you to go inside a few days later, especially if they are dealing with the after effects of a flood etc.
Again, how was the shop worker being aggressive towards you? I can imagine you being pretty argumentative.0 -

You know what? Leave it! I will deal with it directly with the retailer.
