Thank you Haggler and Lyndorset. I will strive to never let myself get in that position again and will do all I can to help and advise others (my children included) to not go down that road.

Shuffling has started in the bedroom, I sometimes wonder if I put one thing of my daughters things in the bin a day if she would actually notice. How she ended up with so much rubbish I don't know. Not even toys, things like paper and models that she's made. Its a good job we have moved so much or I would hate to think what would be accumulated. However, I have a cupboard that is doing the same thing right now so I guess its a joint problem.

Plodding along. I hope to catch back up with the flyladies thread at some point and some of the cooking ones - one step at a time.

Sent of my tax credit renewal last week as well and have a random payment to my account, strange as I really didn't think they would be due to pay me extra. Hopefully they haven't changed the day and amount, I will hold onto it and await the letter that will probably turn up in a few weeks.

    Hi Diary,

Had a nice evening last night, chilled out, watched a movie and had a bit too late a night. Followed by OH having to get up 2 hours after going to bed to go out to work. Neither of us noticed the time - which must be a good thing.

Today however, consisted of me going to the sofa, getting dressed for the postman and going back to the sofa. Very non productive.

Have been reading a few diarys today in my horizontal position (so much so my phone battery died twice). Two things struck out to me. The first is the spending diary and the other shopping lists.

I do have a little book that every expense, incoming outgoing, payment etc is logged in - so while I know that I spent £8.07 in the corner shop last night the reality is that I spent that on a bottle of Fanta, a packet of Haribo and some Vanilla icecream. The ice cream is untouched in the freezer, but I'm now holding off, the haribo gone and only a glass of Fanta has been drunk. So all could have waited for a supermarket shop if at all.
I am now going to break down the exact things that the money has been spent on.
The shopping list thing was reading that some people put their shopping list on the fridge and mark it off as its used, I have a fridge full of veg and lost some recently along with a few other bits. I think this will benefit me greatly if only for soup lunches.
As I happily justified my spend last night today I have sent £5 to my daughters savings account and £5 to my credit card as part of the paying a debt a day.

    Have a goodun'

    Hi Judi & Littleskintdragon.

Judi - It's amazing life really lol, I personally have taken alot for granted and money aside I realised that many of the things I have stressed over in the past do not matter to me at all now. So I'm trying to take that going forward, I may be stressed or upset over something but in the grand scheme of things, does it really matter.

Littleskintdragon - congratulations, when are you due? I'm due on the 2nd but paranoid the baby will come early. With my first daughter she was a week early and such a quick labour I ended up having her at home. I'm really not wanting that to happen again lol. Not without a medic anyway. Maternity pay is a bit scary, I see myself 'going back' after 2 months but as I work from home it won't be too bad just a major juggling act and a test of my organisation skills.

Today so far I have browsed the boards - I'm finding it quite relaxing actually, better than just zoning out to the tv or over doing it around the house or with work. I have painted the skirting behind where the cot will go and am currently (or will be) on a hunt to find where I put the blasted bits to connect it.
My place is currently stuck in a loop, need to organise daughters room to make room for baby stuff in my cupboard to make room for the pile of bedding currently occupying my floor, in turn removing the books that will fit in the bookshelf downstairs once its out of my daughter room! I need some lemmings to action a job each and we will get it done quicker. I used to love that game.
  • Hi :) I'm due on the 10th but it's looking likely i'll have another c-section which will b on the 3rd! Omg!! Lol.

Nice that u had a quick labour, if i get to go naturaly then i hope its a nice one!!

Just saw your post about the flylady thread, thats definately one i want to follow once mat leave starts :) so i shall also see u there!!

Its great how these boards make u think about what your doing/spending and puts into perspective the important things in life - sorry very deep! :rotfl:
Still here..... but working on that!

Littleskintdragon - my birth plan consists of getting to the hospital - and that is all lol.
Mum thinks I'm nesting today have tried to explain I'm just fed up of tripping over things. Still not found the cot bits but have made good cupboard progress. Not too worried as moses basket has been set up for weeks.

    Beanielou - thank you!

Start of a new week. Managed to do another pay a day yesterday, £5 to each pot. Decided I'm going to join the 1% challenge, just want to read on the rest of the thread.

I have also put the car in my signature as I guess it's a debt, even though it's got no interest, I still owe it. Slightly deflating though as now it looks huge. Think that any savings I can make I will put into a savings account to try and grow some interest. Then it will be there if I need it specifically for the car payment.

Managed to get the cot together yesterday! Yay. Now to continue shuffling. Everyday I'm shuffling.

Today is gratitude day - I'm grateful to have found this board, albeit 6 years ago, it really does provide motivation and support.

I wish I could go forward a day or two to see what the tax credit money I received was on Friday. If I knew that normal money was coming on wednesday I would throw that on my credit card, the uncertainty scare me though. Certainly not going to call them though. I can wait two days.

This morning I had to go out to get some cereal for my breakfast and had wanted Frosties of all things, clearly still not got the hang of money saving as I came back with frosties, scones, razors and some Alpen bars (for the hospital bag). Tut Tut

Was up with the birds this morning, not too sure why. Have done a good amount of work but still plodding on. Also have almost finished sorting my bedroom out, only thing left is to find the matching socks to the 20 something odd ones and paint the skirting. Have found a few things that I can put onto ebay.

I can't decide whether to move on to the next room before painting or just blitz it quickly. As for the socks - maybe that's why my machine is troublesome.

Have put another £5 in each pot yesterday and hope to today, sky didn't take their payment today strangely - need to double check if they have changed the date. Fingers crossed for tax credits tomorrow. This paying something each day is so addictive.

    Want to look into cashforclothing.

Noddle came back to me about credit cards that shouldnt be on myfile so I need to make contact with barclays an the official sense.

Popping out soon to have lunch with my daughter.
