You can link you CC as the funding source for your paypal account so you don't need to top up your account, just send him a Paypal gift for the money and it will go straight to him.0

So if I link my credit card to my pay pal as my funding source I would be able to transfer money to my pay pal account?
How long does the transfer from my credit card to my pay pal take?Would it be instant or would I have to wait a few days?
I am running out of time was also considering going into a bank to withdraw funds?(Despite crazy charges which would kick in for taking cash via bank)0 -
No you can't use a credit card to fund your own paypal account.
Just link it and pay your friend selecting it as the payment method, choose whether you or him pay the fee, and job done.
It shows on your credit card statement as a purchase, not a cash advance.Cashback Earned ¦ Nectar Points £68 ¦ Natoinwide Select £62 ¦ Aqua Reward £100 ¦ Amex Platinum £48

That's good but if I do that would the funds be available instantly or would I have to wait a few days for transaction to complete?0

Credit card is with John Lewis0

It really is simple. Very very very simple.
1. Log in to pay pal and add your John Lewis Card
2. Pay your friend using this card as the payment method
3. Your friend logs in to his pay pal account and withdraws the funds to his bank account
My partner and I do this between each other to extract cash from credit cards on a regular basis, and it's literally as easy as 1-2-3, within the space of about 10 minutes.
Due to the large sum of money however,
1. Pay Pal may ask you or your friend or both of you to send photographic ID to release the funds - this takes 24 hours
2. When your friend withdraws the funds they may be sent from PayPal to his bank account via BACS rather than Faster Payments
But seriously, it's dead easy. As easy as me typing this reply.Cashback Earned ¦ Nectar Points £68 ¦ Natoinwide Select £62 ¦ Aqua Reward £100 ¦ Amex Platinum £48

I would have a concern that this sort of transaction is going to get held for review, PayPal are notoriously nervous about large private transfers funded by a card and may take measures to,protect themselves.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Yes it may, hence what I posted above.
If it is held for review they'll just ask each party to provide ID and then release the funds within 24 hours. No bother, really.Cashback Earned ¦ Nectar Points £68 ¦ Natoinwide Select £62 ¦ Aqua Reward £100 ¦ Amex Platinum £48

Very interesting,I recently lost my drivers licence applied for a new one to be issued yesterday, passport has expired last month!
My concern now is that with carrying out such a relatively high transaction at £6000 may lead onto Paypal requesting photographic I'd?
Last thing I want to do is to get the money stuck within paypals review/system?
As I need to get the money to my friend by the end of next week I don't know if I want to possibly go through the headache of a high chance of Paypal requesting photographic I'd etc of which I currently don't have?
If my friend didn't need the money by the end of next week I would have put it through knowing worst case scenario wait until drivers licence comes through etc?
Unsure of what to do and how to go about it?Do I try smaller transactions such as £1000 at a time?
Would also like to point out I appreciate Paypal has rules/policy's to follow for security reasons etc0 -
I also linked my credit card with paypal, awaiting on the 4 digit code to appear on statement which should be tomorrow, thinking surely that should be enough for paypal to accept?
Taking it to be that the possible request of photographic I'd is a further security measure for paypal?0
