I need to pay money to a friend he has asked me to pay him via paypal?
I hold a credit card, wondering if I can call credit card company and ask them to make a payment to my friends credit card?
Would this be possible?
Would I get charged for doing this?
Any help/advice would be appreciated

If your credit card is linked to your paypal account then you could simply send your friend a payment.
It will then be taken from your credit card.
You can't call your card provider and ask then to pay funds to him.Never ASSUME anything its makes a>>> A55 of U & ME <<<0 -
I see didn't realise that..So if I link my credit card to my Paypal I could request funds from my credit card to my pay pal then forward onto friends Paypal account?
Would my credit card company charge me for doing this or would it come under a normal shopping transaction?
If I send it to my friend from my Paypal to his would he get charged for receiving it?0 -
Check paypal for any charges.
No your credit card would charge for making the transaction.Never ASSUME anything its makes a>>> A55 of U & ME <<<0 -
Your friend is unlikely to be a fan of this as the recipient of a credit card payment on PayPal has to pay a fee to receive the funds (some amount plus 2.5% I think).
The only way to do 'free' transfers on PayPal is to fund PayPal from your bank account and send to your friends PayPal address as a private transaction.
You cannot 'fund' your PayPal account from a Credit Card - as this would be the equivalent of a cash advance as funds can be withdrawn from PayPal as cash - effectively it would be a massive loophole. The only way is for your friend to issue you an PayPal 'invoice' for the amount, which you can then pay with a CC transaction, but as I mentioned, your friend will pay the fee.0 -
When you send money via paypal to "Friends / Family" or as a "Gift" they give you the option of paying the fee yourselfCashback Earned ¦ Nectar Points £68 ¦ Natoinwide Select £62 ¦ Aqua Reward £100 ¦ Amex Platinum £48

Yes this could work, either send money to him directly as a gift using his paypal email address, or have him send you an invoice, if either one of you sends as a gift then he wont get stung for the 2.5% (you will though)0

You cannot send money free anymore via paypal. But you can chose who pays the fees, yourself or your friend. Would it not be easier to do a bank transfer? meaning no fees.0

So either way there's no way of sending the money via credit card to paypal without getting charged..
I owe a friend £6000 need to get it to him,all I have is my credit card but trying to figure out what the cheapest method would be to get the money across to him?0 -
I still think the cheapest way could be PayPal - the fee is likely to be around £180 on £6,000.
Unless your credit card supports a "Super Balance Transfer"? Who's it with?Cashback Earned ¦ Nectar Points £68 ¦ Natoinwide Select £62 ¦ Aqua Reward £100 ¦ Amex Platinum £48

£180 s not too bad considering thought it would have been away more than that..
Grudge paying extra charges however under the circumstances I don't think I have much choice?
So to confirm I would only be able to top my paypal account with my credit card I wouldn't be able to directly top my friends paypal account using my credit card?Unless I top my own paypal up first then pass it onto his?0
