after downloading loads of free podcasts about financial independance and retiring early, I'm planning to finally join our work pension.

I've been putting it off, as I havent really had the money whilst paying debt off. But once it has gone, I can put in.

I'm hoping to sign up and put in 7.5% which our company will match.

I've also invested a litte money in a 'crowdcube' project, which is a crowdfunding site. It's in equity of a company I am already a customer off, so it all sounds exciting, but I am using it as a start block for investing int he future....even though I know I am probably just flushing my money, I have learnt new lingo and ideas already, so I find it beneficial!

Had a little set-back. I had to purchase some boots for winter. The ones I had were fell to bits, so BIN! I purchased some on amazon for £20...pretty much the same, flat knee-high boots so I can wear them all through winter easily for work and everyday. Unfortunately this wasnt budgeted for, and popped on my CC. Im annoyed, but as I am down from 3 cards to just 1, I know it isnt a major set-back.

Once I'd ordered the shoes I started looking at work clothes though..and just thinking of the things I probably need to stop looking a scruff at work...I put £30 worth into a basket, not a lot, but I had to quickly shut down the window...and get off the laptop...!!!

Works been stressing me out lately, it doesnt help when I have this early retirement ideal in my head that I'm eager to work towards...makes me feel like I dont want to be at work at all...it's strange its like an addiction, stress, my trigger to spend, to say so what and just buy things to make me happy.

Havent had this struggle for a long time!

Feel myself slowly slipping into bad habits. I spend a further £35 on my CC over the weekend, just on rubbish really. Went to boots, and although I saved £15...I still spend £35.

DH went out with his friends and had a great afternoon in the pub with our mates (his friend was paying for him) and because I was getting left behind I felt a little out of sorts. I want to feel supported for staying in when I dont have money instead of taunted for not going out...he doesnt see how this isnt fair.

    Thank you Thank you!!!

It does feel great to pay off that great chunk....the number now seems to small...but long way to go yet. Got to remain focused.

It's nearly my birthday, and I'm so out of 'not wanting' anything and staying away from shops I really havent got a clue. It's so tricky!

I'd rather just have money to save for our honeymoon...that's so much nicer, as then I dont have to pay out more money and then get junk I dont really want in return....wow....thats sounds ungateful!!! not what I meant IYSWIM!

So I've had an idea for my birthday..rather than presents just for me..I'd love to go shopping for christmas decorations! possibly Ikea :-)

We have two year old cats, and after two years of wrestling with a beaten up christmas tree being climbed, toppled over and baubles being battered around our flat, I'm opting for other sorts of decorations.

I'm thinking Nordic/Scandinavian print throws or cushions, baubles displayed in jars, maybe a christmas smelling candle..just recreate a christmas home...without tempting the cats!!

    ...and DH can pay :-)

Christmas decs for your birthday sounds a great idea :) particularly if you would eventually buy them for yourself anyway
