Buyer replied to my original message saying:

They didn't get a receipt, they were given the package after paying £9.25 charge.

Not really sure what to reply with as it seems this isn't truthful.
I'd probably tell them you have contacted Royal Mail and they say there was no charge so it seems likely they were defrauded by the postman. Ask them if it's okay for you to forward their details to Royal Mail pending a police investigation. After that they may just remember that they've confused you with another seller.

Custardy, Didn't you say the tracking would show a charge though?
No you're not a vegetarian if you eat any animal or fish, so do not insult genuine veggies by calling yourself one!

Yes but to give the buyer the full benefit of the doubt
As it stands they have no tracking proof or receipt
So if they expect you to cough up. At the very least they must have retained the packaging

I once received an SD with stamps, where it looked like the stamps had come from another SD envelope, cut off and reused. They were stuck to a white piece of paper, which had been cut up and then stuck onto the brown envelope.
