I paid £8.40 for delivery, the stamps worked out at £8.60, all new.
Never heard of the cellotape thing, been selling for years and they have always accepted them. I will ask them why £20 that seems ridiculous. Honestly I might as well have kept it as if I have to pay them £20 then i have basically made £10!
Then the charge would be £9.400 -

£9.40 plus a charge or just £9.40? Just wondering where the £20 came inNo you're not a vegetarian if you eat any animal or fish, so do not insult genuine veggies by calling yourself one!

Doesn't all recorded and special have to go through the Post Office? I was just wondering how it is then possible for the buyer to be responsible for underpaying, shouldn't RM take that up with the Post Office? You cant remove a service when charging
charging for 2nd instead of 1st is the norm
however if it has RD or SD
then the fee for that is applicable plus £1.0 -

OP though used her own stamps to cover the full cost- I assume all the PO did was to put tracking details into system. My post is never checked, they always accept what I have put on as postage and for special I drop off at a crown PO as I had problems with my mail centre before.
I would be interested to know what the tracking shows- might it show that item was collected from xxx mail centre rather than 'delivered' ?I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Says delivered from their local deivery office? Not sure if it should say collected or whether its just delivered regardlessNo you're not a vegetarian if you eat any animal or fish, so do not insult genuine veggies by calling yourself one!

Hmm, I may well be completely out of date but I had one once that showed as collected from. Xxx. It just seems odd to me that RM would deliver something that requires a charge, as the Post person can't collect that at the door.
I suppose the buyer might have paid any charge online of course....but I would certainly be asking for the receipt here before I paid out anything to buyer.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. The OP is telling the truth about those none sticky special edition stamps. I got some from the post office, they were absolutely useless. Would not stick at all (I taped over the corners!).0

£9.40 plus a charge or just £9.40? Just wondering where the £20 came in
The fee is £1 and this is put on top of the amount that 'should' have been paid, so in your case £8.40. So the total the buyer will be charged is £9.40. But they should get some proof of payment to show you they have had to pay.0
