Nearly got taken out today after a roundabout.
Options
I was going down a two lane dual carriageway at around 60mph in the inside lane, and there was a roundabout around half a mile away, and a car about a hundred yards ahead of me doing 40 - 50mph in the outside lane - no other traffic around.
So, by the roundabout I had caught the other driver up, because they had come to a complete stop in the outside lane, despite no traffic about to merge on to the roundabout.
We both pulled away at the same time - I was still on the inside as I was going straight on - and the other car kept tight to the roundabout, and I thought thay were going to carry on right for the last exit - NO!
As I exited the roundabout, still in the inside lane, the other car (a small people carrier with two women in), suddenly indicated left and came towards the side of my car - she was level with me. I beeped a couple of times, and then she did the same thing, before she slowed down and pulled in behind me. I then carried on, but she started flashing her lights, and making gestures at me:(

Why have they no lane discipline and why do they not realise when THEY have made a mistake?

Because she's an imcompetant driver, but hey, if she'd hit you, you'd be laughing to the bank (hopefully not the hospital though)0

I encounter these a lot, mostly the one's that cut the racing line across the roundabout though, causing me to mount the roundabout in RH lane.... I lean on the horn and they unleash a barrage of abuse. It just makes no sense at all!!!
I had your exact situation when driving the Westfield some years back, it was at this point I realised the compressor for my airhorns had seized
People cannot admit they did wrong.“I may not agree with you, but I will defend to the death your right to make an a** of yourself.”

Would have gone 50/50, roundabout accidents nearly always do, unless there are reliable independent witnesses.“I may not agree with you, but I will defend to the death your right to make an a** of yourself.”

Definitely wasn't one of those roundabouts where you need to be in the right lane to go straight on?0

Yep had a similar one the other day except mine was white van man.
Got a dirty look off a lane hogger this morning too having passed them (legally) by crossing onto the outside lane in the opposite direction (basically just a 4 lane 40mph road).
Muppet was in the outside lane and doing about 30mph so rather than go for the undertake I went round the outside, much easier on the bike of course. When I got level I could see the plum was trying to send a text message! What if there was no such thing as a rhetorical question?0 -

Like you won't admit to incorrect use of the horn.;)0 -
I got stuck behind an idiot yesterday for about half a mile on a 70mph dual carriageway doing 40mph in the right hand lane. There was nothing in the left lane, so I used it to undertake the !!!!!. He still didn't get the message.
Waste of fuel to be stuck behind an idiot like that. Should be banned for holding people up!Trying to be a man is a waste of a woman0 -

Nothing wrong if that's what's needed to make your presence known.
Have to do it here all the time.Trying to be a man is a waste of a woman0 -

There does seem to be a huge number of drivers who, if they are turning right a mile or two further ahead, will happily bung up the right-hand lane of a dual carriageway at around 40mph for the full distance.
These are far worse than the middle lane hoggers as they are openly encouraging people to undertake.
The problem is, if you don't undertake you end up causing a hazard yourself as people snake past you.0 -
