Do you have a satnav or a smartphone? Set it up and get it to tell you the actual speed.

While it's not justified to tailgate and be aggressive to a slower driver, if it is happening to you that often, and by lorries when you think you're doing 70, your speedo has to be broken.

Speedos are allowed to OVERread by 10%+6.25mph, so the lowest you could be going while still having a legal speedo is 58mph for an indicated 70. The speedo is never checked on the MOT but you are breaking construction and use rules by continuing to use that car in its current state, if it is the speedo.

Wow, must be a day for idiot drivers posting stupid ideas.

So you've modified your car, without telling your insurer no doubt, and then caused an accident? Which you'll then be paying out of your own pocket for? and on top of that, the police will have some question for you no doubt.

You dont drive on the motorway? thank christ for that! - though funny how you have an opinion on it? - actually its just a shame you're allowed to drive at all.

you must be the idiot who tailgates then.

I personally think the OP's post is trolling. Either than or they are lane hogging, and as some suggest, their speedo is faulty.

What p****s me off are drivers who fail to notice the change in speed limit for the road. If they are not concentrating enough to see the big NSL sign then what else are they not noticing.

They probably see it, but don't know what it means.

I also read one once that said 60% of people didn't know what it meant.

Not just the NSL sign, other signs too. I just used that as an example. On route to work there is a stretch of road that changes to 40 from 30 and the amount of drivers that just don't seem to realise.

Although there seem to be many circumstances where there is no NSL sign when moving out of a restricted area. It used to be that, for instance, the reverse side of a 30 sign was always a NSL sign the same size, but now there's either no sign or a much smaller one. I assume it's a cost saving measure, but I have to wonder if it's legal not to advise of the change of limit.

It is possible such a sign pictured is on either a 'one-way' road, or a dual carriageway?

In which case, there will not be anything on the other side?
No, I don't think all other drivers are idiots......but some are determined to change my mind.......

Regardless of speedo accuracies, the OP describes blatant bullying on the roads.

Something I, for one, do not tolerate in others.

Sadly, I don't get 'bullied', regardless of what sort of vehicle I'm in.

So I must assume much of the sensation of being bullied is actually down to a lack of confidence with driver skills, by those on the receiving end?

When being bullied by others [aka, tailgating?]..it is important not to respond or get wound-up.

There is no need to 'speed-up' if you don't wish to.

Suffice to say, you will not be the only one travelling slower than the tailgater....once past you, there will be another up ahead, and so on.
