Thanks Skint. This link is the current advice from the police.

    https://www.askthe.police.uk/content/Q275.htm

I was asking the wirgin mob to save the recording on my 1571 and they could not have been less helpful.

[rant] Since the helpdesk was outsourced I have not had a single problem solved by them and I'm just tired of being fed absolute rubbish down the line when I phone them. Having esculated the issue as per your advice some time ago, the total lack of anything resembling support had me gibbering with rage to the point where I just had to end the call. The last three occasions I needed their help have all been equally frustrating and I now think it's part of their remit to obfuscate rather than resolve. [\rant]

Lamewolf Seriously? 50 a day?

Putting a tracer on a line to record calls requires quite a lot of processes to be followed ie man-hours =cost , which is why easier and quicker to give away a £1/£1.50 service for 30 days to put off the nuisance caller (high-spirited teenagers for example - not harmless fun by any means), to give quick respite from nuisance calls.... as opposed to full blown stalker/vicious troll/violent ex partner etc which really does need police involvement and protection, with all the i's dotted and the t's crossed to secure a prosecution.

Similarly the Police want to pass the potato back to the phone service provider for cost reasons first, unless there is risk of injury.

A reference obtained by ringing 101 is usually sufficient to get the ball rolling with the phone provider

It was 52 this morning, after I'd weeded out the obvious junk; this was, in fairness, two days' worth, as I didn't go online at all yesterday (too cream crackered). I do a lot of online surveys; also, as I don't do phones, email is my preferred method of communication.:o But yes, my usual daily inbox is 30+ and 50 in a day is not unheard of.

    Oh boy...
since when did it learn to rain LIKE THAT *drip*
been on errand, came home, put washign out. DS left a camping shairs out, and its cover, and my picnic blanket. Hear a strange noise - lashing down. Sunshiney but lashing down...
washing hauled in while wearing wet shoes (because I left them on the doormat with the door open) and everything else left out as too late to save - it all now needs to dry *SIGH*
Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY

Thanks for your thought friends it really does mean a lot.

It went as well as these things can SiL and my niece were distraught. I had put on a little gold bracelet I had when younger to give to my niece when it all got too much and then I took her out of the service just before the end, poor wee thing had cried enough and I didn't think seeing her mother sobbing on the coffin was helping. Fortunately she stopped outside and was fine after. She is coming up here for a week in a couple of weeks time so I'll take her out a few times with DS3.

I'll sort out dinner for DS2 in a bit as he needs to go to work and then only flying will be DW and ironing. I'd love to sit in the garden with a glass of wine but I'll need to collect DS2 at 10:30 so that will have to take a rain check.

I've followed this thread for a while but as yet have not actively started to fly...I was just wondering, is there anyone on here who works full time and usually comes straight home around 6 to make dinner, and probably 3 weekday evenings out of 5 would go to the gym/church/out with friends/to see family. I was just wondering, when do you find time to fly?? I would love some tips!!

we got that rain along with hailstones the other weekend Valli, it was weird, not clouds but heavy hail then tropical rain. ours was followed by a thunderstorm

    hugs Dusty

welcome lisa jane, sorry i work part time (in a school so hoildays at the mo), it must be difficult at the beginning finding the balance between your time and chores when working full time, but the beauty of 'flying' is that eventually if you keep it up little and often is the way to stay on top of keeping the house in order.

DD2 and her fella have just left with a carfull of her stuff (mostly books and more clothes) had a quick tidy in the attic while i was up there and there is actually some space now.
All ironing has now been put away.

LW, tortoise is getting his fix of sunshine and daylight in the garden while the weathers so nice, its more the winter he needs it. i was just pleased it was such a bargain price and came through the post safely.

going to do some stuff in the kitchen now
