I was going to go out for a run last night, as could feel the belly settling back in, when i got up this morning the legs felt a little off, mainly as i smashed my knee into the chair whilst running to get a cup of the little one, i guess that can count for a little exercise.

Might try to get out tonight before tea, could push tea out late and have it watching the boxing, will update later..

I worry that if i dont carry on what im doing, fitness levels will slip and the ££'s will pile back on again..

Also, perhaps our thread could stand strong in stark contrast amongst the fads and short term solutions? (although, thinking about it, isn't the c25k thread over there anyway, do they need another running thread?)
Yes, the c25k thread is there already. I would suggest, if you come to Health, that I close that thread and give them a link to 'yours'. You'd be friendly, wouldn't you? I gather some of you are up for a little more than 5K, but then I guess some of them might be too.

Also I'm glad to hear that it's not just my perception that we're not totally overwhelmed by diet threads ... Sometimes you wonder ...

Ouch, Alias!! My knee is starting to scab over after my fall in the week - lovely! I feel like a 5 year old - scabby knees

It is windy here, but the sun is shining, but I'm not running today, so not really relevant. By the time my blisters heal we will be back to ice and fog probably!

    Scabs are good!:D

At least they show you're healing! Next time put your son underneath - he might heal quicker!:p :p

I hope there isnt too much wind in the morning - I think Becky would prefer an easier introduction to her first race than having to battle through a force 10 gale!

    ( My five pence )

At the end of the day i think its good to have a thread like this within the
DFW section. As I'am sure one or two people reading this will owe money.

But if you ask me getting your shoes on and going for a good few miles jog not only gets you fit it is allso very good to get away from any stress that people might be under with debts and what not, even if its only for a hour or so. Plus as you get fitter in the body this in turn will make the mind more healthy thus helping you face whatever situation you might find yourself in.

Or at the very least maybe have a subsection for DTW clubs ETC as someone talked about a few posts ago.

    ( what i came to say )

Enjoying my rest day...:D .. back on the streets in the AM :T

No way moving boards guys this is the DFW running club and has been since june 07 NOT the MSE running club.
This thread has provided people with somewhere to discuss something other than debt, to take their minds off the pressures of daily life and finances and has also reached outside of the site with bringing pewople together, discussing fitness and the like. we are DFW and proud!!!!

Right, new thread.. sorry for that

RUNNING CLUB MARK 2!!!!!!!! ALL ARE WELCOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Hi one and all!!

At the request of several members here on the DFW board, I have pleasure in starting the Debt Free Wannabe Running Club! The idea being that we all have goals we wish to reach, some being financial, others being weight loss, getting fit etc.

So heres the place to get the motivation to do it!!:j

Firstly, Let us know what your goal is, Ie running a half marathon, being able to run for half hour without stopping, doing 30 sit ups etc then we can share progress reports, any training hints and tips and generally get a kick up the proverbial to get off the sofa and go do it!!!:rotfl:
(goodness knows i need a boot right now so could be accused of being slightly self indulgent with the thread!:T )

If there are enough people we could even do an evening or a sunday run.

We all know Gyms are/can be Mega expensive so here's the cheaper option and you'll get loads of support from us all.

    So who's in?!

    Have fun
