Wanted to stock up on carbs today for lots of energy, but looking in the fridge there was no chance of that.

And at the same pace as the 1.5, so that must feel like a significant step in the right direction!

Week20
Mon12/1 Rest Day
Tues13/1 3 x 1 mile Intervals (6:27, 6:28, 6:38) (Average 6:31) (Pulse 122)
Weds14/1 10 Miles 1:29:06 (8:55/mile) (Pulse 88)
All white and crisp this morning, very scenic! It didn't feel cold though, so very pleasant running conditions, although starting a run in pitch black and finishing in full daylight does feel a bit weird!
I agree about running downhill being harder than uphill and certainly more risky in terms of potential injuries.Gt NW 1/2 Marathon 21/2/2010 (Target=1:22:59) (6:20/mile) 1:22:47 (6:19):j:j

Well done alias, glad that you got it passed, how many times did it take you to pass it?
Hope the situps and pressups didnt prove a problem for you?
Did circuit training again yesterday and by god it was hard, a massive over load on the muscles with shuttle running in between, so was doing 50 reps between 5 exercises with approx 200m running after each set, did this for 30 mins, so legs a little bit heavy. will see if i can get out tonight after a day of sitting on my bum in work.
Rich, I have tried to get out in the mornings but have decided its not for me, with me doing circuit training most days i find im just too tired and heavy legged to get out in the morning, so i feel i hae more energy in the evening, so hopefully around 9.30pm most nights.Running Club5KM - 25:20(51.21%) 10KM - 53:40(50.26%)1/2 Marathon - 2.14.57(44.20%)Marathon 5:11:00 (40.78%)0 -
Oooo Rich pulse 88 - hahaha nearly at my all time low of 80! Nice weds running though - I'm going out for my 10 miler this evening and hoping to run very slowly so I dont tire for Sunday
Got a huge meeting today so will see you all later...happy running everyone0 -

pressups and sit-ups never been a problem, normally can push out about 48 pressups and the standard amount of sit-ups.
The aim to passing it was someone was running to the same level as me, as last week the youngsters dropped out at level 9.0, leaving me to run 10 more on my own, so i bailed at 9.4 / 9.5,
I initially failed in april at level 9.3, and been on the remedial since, but work commitments ensure that i can never go, and when working nights there is no chance of coming in at 1pm, when starting work at 4-30pm till finish.0 -
48 pressups - gargh - I can do one and then my wrists start to hurt and I have to stop, I can do 20 sit ups though...
One of you lot must have tips for making pressups easier actually...come on whats the secret to them??0 -
becky- 20 situps is good going.
The secret is just keep trying, when youve been doing the circuit training that we get to do its easy to get used to doing them. I can get around the 40 mark in a minute and 35 situps in a minute as well.
Im struggling around the level 9 mark aswell so finding it helpful to do the long running just to get the endurance up.Running Club5KM - 25:20(51.21%) 10KM - 53:40(50.26%)1/2 Marathon - 2.14.57(44.20%)Marathon 5:11:00 (40.78%)0
