    I'm not sure going with 11 women would be an attractive proposition, so you deserve a medal for that one!:p

    They were all brilliant to be fair. I was just like one of the boys and they all looked after me. We were all there for the running, we took part in the Breakfast Run the day before and all had a great time in the race itself. It is still a very fondly-remembered weekend. Marathons are like men - you never forget the first! ;)

    Blimey I go away for a couple of hours and come back to Rich and Becky having a loved up run in Venice...:love:

    Anyway report back from the Dr (who was some young whipper snapper probably younger than me locum :mad: ) said that he couldn't feel/see any major damage and that it was just strain to either muscle or ligament. He did point out that I have very flexible/movable knee caps though and that this might have caused the strain and gave me some exercises to improve the muscles around the knee. He did say to take it easy for another couple of weeks but could ease back into it Gently :j . He knew nothing about the free genetic Heart test that is now available so waiting for him to find out about that!

    Beautiful day out today, going to take DD to park and then to Ballet lesson this afternoon
    I'll make a wish, take a chance, make a change And breakaway. I'll take a risk, take a chance, make a change and breakaway ....

  • OR, Marathons are like men.......

    1. It feels great to get one over and done with?

    2. They never appreciate how much work you have done in getting ready for them?

    3. They go on and on and on .........?

    4. They always seem to want you to perform at 9 o'clock in the morning?

    5. They don't do the ironing?

    6. They get harder to deal with as time goes on?

    7. Length doesn't matter (oh, yes it does!)?

    8. You deserve a medal for tackling one?

    9. They can be a painful experience?

    10. When you say 'Never Again' you don't really mean it?

    On the other hand, you're unlikely to find a man called 'Flora'!

    Yep, the usual scenario. Just try to get as much walking done as you can in everyday activity, especially hill walking. Fit it in and around everything and you'll soon feel the strength building until its no longer as fragile.

    My, you've been thinking about this. I particularly like (2) and (4).

    How about:

    11. Each one is a challenge in its own unique way;

    12. When you experience a bad one, you know what to do differently next time;

    13. You don't take one on without expecting to work hard at it.

    HAHAHAHAHA

    Brilliant you lot - I go away to get some shopping in and look what I come back to!!! Oh you'll have to do better than that to upset me by the way ;)...

    I did buy frilly knickers so can I blame that on endorphins too? We were trying to get my mum some pjs and I persuaded her to buy me some scanties as well :) - excellent MSEing if I do say so myself!

    Mmmmm Chick 11 men - a whole football team of fun!

    Thats good news Sally - its not something horrible and you can hopefully get back on track soon!

    Red - we havent seen you around for a while...how's your progress going?? You say you are feeling wintered - its lovely out today - bright and cold perfect winter outdoors weather :)
